wireless doorbell

I have had numerous doorbells which work for only a few months before giving up the ghost. When you read the instructions which are usually sealed INSIDE the packaging they say the bellpush should be protected from rain. Hello.....unless you have a porch, how do you do this? I have tried sealing them with silicone, but still have no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a weatherproof doorbell please?

I'm no expert but surely as they are electrical it would make sense not to expose them to rain.

Can you not just google for waterproof or weatherproof doorbells?

Good idea and have considered it, but I wouldn't hear it if I was in the kitchen at the back of the house

Your a diamond. Just ordered, Thanks
The bell push is usually battery operated so shouldn't be any danger if it gets wet.
I bought a wireless doorbell for about £15 from Homebase and you could buy the bell pushes separately .

oh - mine has been up a week so will see how it goes

obviously, you can get a free replacement though
Buy a decent quality doorbell like Friedland, they seem to last forever.
Given up on wireless doorbells. Wired in a doorbell with a makeshift roof for the button press and it works like a dream. Bitten too many times with wireless. Decided to go wired and forget about doorbells for good.
