    Wish me luck!

Ive got the dentist at 2pm, as 1 of my wisdom teeth has been giving me grief for months, im hoping they take it out TBH :geek:

Bit scared, i think everyone gets!

Nothing like being in the dentist chair!

Hopfully itll sail by though, with them taking it out, gotta be better than going through this every couple of weeks, i think theres no room in my mouth for it, so its growing into my cheek, eek!

Hrs were growing inwards. They said she had a small jaw, I say she has a big mouth!

You will probably be sent to the nearest dental hospital for a routine op to have it removed joshy. Especially if its growing the wrong way!! I had 3 taken out at once, but they put me to sleep for that. Good luck.

Only 2 hours to go josh.......getting more nervous yet:giggle:
Seriously, hope it all goes well though.:)

Yep - I don't think regular dentists tend to remove wisdom teeth. I had a problem with one of mine about 8 years ago. General anaesthetic for one op, and then sedation for the other!

    Good luck Joshy :friends:

Not so sure about that,as technology moves on.I had an abscess about 8 yrs ago and had to go into hospital for treatment (2 day job),then i got another last year and it was treated by my dentist (1 - 2 hrs).He said it is now common practice to be done by them.

No, general anaesthetic is when you're put under completely - local anaesthetic is when you're still awake!

They won't do it today under general - you need to have not eaten since the night before, etc. You'll have to get an appointment for the dental hospital anyway.

Are you actually having it out today? or are you just going to tell them that its hurting you? They wont give you anaesthetic if you have eaten that day. They usualy take x-rays ect...then refer you to the hospital!!!!

I havent been yet, i think i mentioned that somewhere, im hoping there going to say, yep we'll whip it out for you

They almost certainly won't do it today.. even if solely due to other patients appointments.. nhs dentists only allow a few minutes per patient after all.
    Gl joshanna! it'll be fine.

My NHS dentist spent half an hour filling a cracked tooth in what was only a normal appointment.

i think its all about how serious it is, how much pain will be caused?

Hope all went well and it wasn't too traumatic for you...........

Just have plenty of your favourite ice cream handy!!! when you come
    home. GOOD LUCK...

you know why...he wants you to go back for another visit = more money for him

I had mine out under general anaesthetic and I couldn't open my mouth for a week.

I had to eat melted ice cream and soup through a straw.

After a week all of the stitches they put in my gums and the insides of my cheeks started to dissolve and it was like eating dry noodles.

Thankfully they are gone now. I've never had a problem with them since.

I don't have any wisdom teeth. I don't think I'll ever get them now, at my age.

Have I missed someit ducky..this sounds like serious affection to me.

Just to add some wisdom...well the little I have...to proceeedings...I have a partially erupted wisdom tooth and was referred to the dental hospital by my Dentist when it started to play up..I had a badly swollen jaw as a result and it ached like I'd been hit by Lennox Lewis....I was told by the dental consultant that he would only remove the tooth as a last resort as they were concerned that the operation would cause nerve damage and I would lose the feeling in the back of my mouth....a course of antibiotics sorted the problem and I was given a lesson in how to keep the area around the partial eruption clean...so no problems since...just hope the course of tablets work for you Joshanna.

    :D:D:D am i 2 late 2 wish u luck ???

How disappointing, I was really hoping to get one of these for Joshy, but they're sold out
