With or without cream?

How do you (personally) make carbonara?
I have tried using eggs but they usually scramble -_- so I now use double cream but I'm reading that's not the authentic way. I'm also trying to be healthier so would prefer not to add the double cream or use a substitute... Any suggestions?

Buy Jar, open jar and pour
I never use cream. I use some of the pasta water and then add the egg. That stops it scrambling and I believe is the way the Italians do it

creme freche
Italian here... Carbonara has no cream! I regularly see this sauce here sold as some sort of cream-based sauce, which to us italians is just not carbonara.
You add eggs at the end and they cook with the heat from the pasta, coating it.
They shouldn't be like scrambled eggs.
