world wide travel insurance for the over 65

Wanted world wide travel insurance for the parents who are over 65 years old. They have an Alliance and Leicester regular account in joint names, should they switch to the so called Premier 50 account which costs £10 per month and both are covered and gives world wide travel insurance till 79 years of age. Or do any of you bargain hunters know of any thing cheaper or better for two OAPS worldwide travelers.

Getting a separate policy is probably going to cost £150+ so probably best to upgrade the bank account. Depends on exactly what cover they are getting though I suppose.

Help the Aged do their own travel insurance to try and help those who are discriminated against cos of age, I think they do one for people who have had illnesses too but it's worth checking it out. Hope they have a good trip and don't need to use the insurance.

Apply for a Capital One credit card ( making sure its the one that gives the free travel insurance) There are several different ones, so be sure to apply for the correct one. This gives free travel insurance with no age restriction. The only stipulation is that you cannot travel against the doctors advice. I have travelled to US a couple of times using this insurance & I am 66 yrs old with health problems. I hope this helps
