Jeff Bezos started Amazon centuries ago? oO

mutley number 9 on the list

what about the world's most active versus the world's laziest?
what about the world's luckiest versus the world's unluckiest?
just meaningless.

Don't even worry about it, as long as your happy its fine. Counting your beans and looking around in woe will only make you feel sad!

I would spend more time planning your way through the early Brexit years then anything else! That slap is coming to hit ya hard!

Is that the male or the female mutley? Or its combined wealth?

You got any evidence to go with that slice of slander?

This article is nonsense. Most of the world's population don't have a net worth, because it takes time to build wealth through savings and investments. People don't start accumulating wealth until later in their lives. Given that almost fifty percent of the world's population is under 25 this story isn't so astonishing.

Yes because all those living in third world countries start accumulating wealth once they hit 25 oO

It's totally inaccurate, I just found 20p on the pavement.

Im all for people who have earned and worked for their wealth, or taken great risks to achieve it - but when its been handed to them on a silver platter with butter ribbons by robbing from the poor or monopolising, then i object.

Gets me when big salaries (bankers) are defended because "they are needed to ensure the interest is kept in the position" - i'm pretty sure there will be lots of equally qualified people willing to jump in their shoes for a third of the money!

why are you shouting fella?

Is this any different to how it has been in the past?

Good ol Brits who left a lot of these people hanging in bad situations anyway! Blackman says he wants to run his country, everyone agrees, worst elections ever take place (at least its democracy eh!?) and then the Brits run off no infrastructure help, no nothing.

At least we can all forget about progressive release and steps to change, prosperity, freedom and democracy and sit here now and say how bad it all is!

Still granny wasn't a bad lady, I little bit selfish, left us looking like hypocrites but we loved her all the same

That's not the point, a lot of people aren't worth anything until they get much older and have paid off their mortgage etc, just because their net worth is zero or minus doesn't mean they are living in dire conditions.

If you added up all the money in the world and divided it equally between the whole population, within a year you would have millions of people with nothing again and a few people with millions its just the way people are built, some will always have the drive and acumen to rise to the top finacially, and others will always be wasteful and fritter their cash away.

very true some people waste money like it's nothing I know people who are on £400 a week with no real bills to pay who are struggling by Wednesday it's crazy

Bit of charity work. Less so than I used to but the earlier I retire the more I can do later in life.

The other guys are doing less than they should because a century of socialist propaganda against philanthropy has really entered into their mindset.

Do you mean have I an inkling what it really means to have no money in my bank account? If so, yes I do.
Or do you mean have I an inkling what it really means to have no access to clean water, food, shelter, etc? No I don't, and largely I have capitalism to thank for that.

Well done
Yes know one has thought of a better way of doing things than capitalism yet
the problem is it is just broke the whole 'free trade' thing seems to have just disappeared

"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20And at his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21who longed to satisfy his hunger with what fell from the rich man’s table; even the dogs would come and lick his sores. 22The poor man died and was carried away by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In Hades, where he was being tormented, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side. 24He called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames.’ 25But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in agony. 26Besides all this, between you and us a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who might want to pass from here to you cannot do so, and no one can cross from there to us.’ 27He said, ‘Then, father, I beg you to send him to my father’s house— 28for I have five brothers—that he may warn them, so that they will not also come into this place of torment.’ 29Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.’ 30He said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’"

"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money"

It isnt that wealth is evil its that greed is incompatible with Christian values, and Christian values are those which we should all appreciate, being kind, generous, loving essentially treating others as we want to be treated ourselves.

Those who chase money working long nights and weekends unnecessarily as they need not to in order to survive, deprive their families of their love and companionship, they may start rationalising it, feeling that they do need it, they let greed seep in and rob them of their humanity, they start doing things unfairly from ripping off customers to not paying tax, they may start justifying in their minds why they are worth much more then their employees thus its right they should reward themselves while paying others a pittance, the need for a roof overhead becomes the need for a bigger roof and then a bigger roof still always something to justify the temptation and greed that breeds inhumanity to others that is the evil of wealth.

so OP, how much of YOUR wealth do you give to those less fortunate than yourself?

or are you one of these hypocrites that think it's only the higher ups that should give away their wealth.

Greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good.

Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind.

He's the extreme, but he's not wrong about greed being a good driving force. You castigating those who work hard to provide a better life for their family brings to mind the Bible verse about removing the log from your own eye.

Your still not defining your motivation for forsaking your family now in favour of accumulation of wealth.

"Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. (NIV, Proverbs 23:4-5)"

Forsaking family? Look, I know you've clung to religion because of what you're going through and that's fine but you might want to wind your neck in when making the decision to judge others.
