worlds worst children david Walliams book

Hi, yet another question, is there anyone who works in a book shop or so who could shed any light on why I can't find a copy of David Walliams' world's worst children book under 6.99 which was released in June 16 but I could get the new midnight gang book which was released beginning of November for £2.50 (tesco a few days after it was released). Thank you again

Traditionally publishers release books in the Hardback format, then 7-9 months later in Large Paperback and finally Twelve months later standard paperback size. Usually this allowed libraries access to Hardback first for their customers. Concerning your question it appears that Worlds Worst Children by David Walliams was released 19th May 2016 in Hardback, and the RRP was £14.99, thus most retailers are selling the product for roughly half price £6.99 - £7.99. So you'll have to wait until next year for the paperback and for the price to be cheaper. Unless the book gets reprinted or remaindered.

As most independent booksellers receive up to 40% off from their middleman, the shops either sell the item at a loss or a higher price than the large retailers or supermarkets who have larger buying power and agreements with the publishers. Sadly this is the reason many small independent chains and bookshops have closed.

Thank you for both for the info.. I usually buy second hand but even used this book seems expensive for something that's been out a while!

We haven't unfortunately! But thank you!

Why not try your local library. If they don't have it in stock, ask them if they can buy a copy. My local library is very good and has done this for me on several occasions. The only thing is it takes about 6 weeks. As long as you don't mind the wait and you don't need to keep a copy of the book permanently, this might be an option. I know this doesn't help you, but I've just checked online and my library does have a copy/ Obviously this doesn't help if you want it for a present but just thought I'd mention it.

I know it hasn't been released very long, but maybe call local charity shops? Someone may have bought one and then passed it on. Doubtful I know but maybe, just maybe!
