    Worth repairing my iPhone 3G?

    Evening one & all.

I purchased an iPhone 3G awhile back but I don't use it as a phone anymore. I always end up using it as an mp3 player but now I have an iPod nano 6th gen 16gb. Needless to say, it's now my preferred mp3 player.

The problem is this, the iPhone was unlocked by o2 and works perfectly but the back is scratched up with a small crack at the back/bottom and the power switch doesn't work. Now I want to sell this on eBay or some such but wondered if apple would re-furb / repair it for an affordable price and would it add anymore value to it if I did so?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks guys and girls.

Apple wouldn't fix this for a good price, people were charged £150 for a screen replacement.. well all they would do is swap your phone for a refurb, if i was you just buy oem items for your phone, or pay me to fix it up for you

they charge a fortune that makes it worth buying a new one in the end ,How much do you want for it ?

You could try you luck with Apple if the crack is just above the port / connector. Known fault and weakness. Had a very well out of warranty handset with the same crack and one by the volume buttons exchanged not so long a go. Just explained that I had only just been told by another Apple store that it is a known fault, Bob's your uncle refurb given no hassle. Mind you only worth while if you have a local store as they could always give you a knock back if you get an ar5e in the store.

Nothing ventured nothing gained and all that.

    Hi kevinrothwell,
If Monkey nuts 2 wanted to sell he would have to do so in the FS forum rather than Misc.

Cheers guys. I sld as is and it went quite quickly.

I'm not to good with selling online as I've been cought out before so sold at work for £200. Still made a fair bit on what I paid for it so thats a bonus.

Thanks again for all the help. There are plenty of people in the know on HUKD!

PS. Just seen I had a PM from someone offering me £40 for the "Faulty Iphone". (_;)
