Would be so funny if the less careful Forza 6 eBay scalpers get chargebacked

Seeing the scalpers with multiple 1p Forza 6 codes from yesterday's Argos Black Friday deal, the majority have stated they would send the codes by email or private message (i.e. No tracking via post). I've personally experienced selling and sending a psn credit code via message on eBay and been a victim of a chargeback (despite proving the code was used by the buyer) and how easily they can now be done (fortunately PayPal in disputed cases where I lost waived the Bank chargeback fee so I ended up losing a few quid only to the scammer), having the regulations on eBay and PayPal favouring the buyer over the seller.

I would be surprised if none of the buyers like use the code, download forza 6 on their console, and then activate a chargeback.

But you can track an email and get proof that it was downloaded; I do this every time I have to send something important.

Why would it be funny that sellers on ebay get scammed? This is a prime example of why selling on ebay is turning less attractive.

People like laughing at others misery, it happens often.

I've been done by this before. You have to be very careful who you send a code to via email and even then high feedback offers no guarantees as if they claim unauthorised use of the account feedback isn't affected. Only chance you have is to send the code by post, Special Delivery. I'll be doing that when I put my Forza 6 code up tomorrow. Only after a few quid anyway, it was an unexpected bonus as I was in there buying Forza Horizon 3 and checked HUKD in the queue!

I went on my PSN account, "Redeem Code", typed in the code and it said it was used.

Makes no difference due to the change in regulations favouring the buyer. Best bet now is to send the code tracked via post, that way eBay knows for certain the code was sent and used.

    What 1p black friday glitch?

Yesterday Argos had a glitch where if you bought an xbox game over £15 and asked for the code 616/9103 then forza Motorsport 6 appears on their system as 1p. Stores like Argos Small Heath only allowed 1 purchase (mainly because the staff had no idea what was going on), but some stores were allowing multiple purchases which started a scalper hunt for cheap codes, and then at 5pm most stores clocked on to what was occurring.

Then eBay and PayPal came up with the regulatory BS that selling codes by PM /email are not part of their sellers protection. I did get most of the money back though via PayPal waiving the chargeback fee the scammers bank set

That doesn't prove it was used by the buyer. He/she could also claim used if sent physically via post anyway (under not as described or something similar). Ebay / Paypal always side with the buyer in my experience.

That makes no sense, English isn't the global language, people could be fully educated and know no English. Do you know mandarin? Or any other language? I'm guessing you only know one language.

You'll get asked to send it via email anyway (thus threatening feedback). It's not a tangible item so sending in the post means nothing even if it's sent special delivery. Just sell the thing via email, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Oh god, I wondered how long it would be before the PC brigade chipped in, I guess you've been watching a bit too much BBC2?

Although I appreciate your point and agree that in a democratic society we are all entitled to an opinion regardless of sex, race or religion blah, blah, blah... I am also entitled to mine. I find it funny that khalifazed's assumption that a person needs educating because he doesn't like people who gobble up deals to make a profit (something that I don't personally have issues with before you start!!), is perfectly fine with you.... a sceptical mind could suggest that you're a bit of a hypocrite?

Last thing, for the record I speak three languages, perhaps you need to control your prejudice? (_;)

You've learnt a good lesson in business called supply and demand, keep hold of them, if you're lucky, the price will go back up, don't forget that it's in the Gold offer at the moment so you can buy it digitally for less than £15

It doesn't but it gives you far more chance with eBay. List it under 'Everything Else' rather than games and treat it as a Gift Card. Explicitly say in the description that you will not send by email due scammers. I was told by eBay they're looking for a way to manage digital code sales and are watching such sales closely. Sending the codes by email gives you literally no protection.
