    would you.....

sit on the other side of a plane to balance it ???

    Passengers asked to balance plane

The airline wanted to ensure cargo and passengers were evenly distributed

Dozens of holidaymakers returning to Newcastle refused to fly after they were asked to act as human ballast.

A jammed hold door meant luggage could only be loaded into the front of the Thomas Cook plane at Mallorca airport.

Passengers were asked to move seats to distribute the weight, but 71 left the plane, fearing for their safety.

I think I'd leave the plane too!!!

flying back from portugal we had seats blocked off here n there cos the flight wasnt full and needed to be distributed even, seemed fair enough

Surely the plane shoulda been classed as unfit for air travel?

    Yes, no problem, simple physics.

    Why do you say that?

I know pilots have a rep, but they are not thick or suicidal!

    Because of the jammed door??

I understand that weight has to be distributed.

Or does the luggage doors not matter?

Well it matters if you can't get your luggage on board, but apart from that, no. Would it matter if 1 of 2 loos were broken? What about if a seat was missing? It wouldn't be right, but it wouldn't make the plane unfit for use.

    As I said, elementary

Cool, dont really see a problem then, I'd move if it meant I got there faster.

Hell, I'd be asked to sit in the middle because I'm that big they'd have to put 3 people in the opposite seat. :w00t:

Being asked to sit somewhere else sounds very logical and quite civilised to me, can't see the problem with it at all.

When I go skydiving, everyone leans as far near the front of the plane as possible during takeoff. It's the one time you'd be forgiven for putting your crotch in someone's face whilst being squished together like a can of sardines.

Civilised??? On a package holIday to Magaluf:whistling: Jokeeeeeeeeeee

Well just goes to show the level of intelligence for the typical Magaluf holiday maker

What I meant to say was that being asked to sit in another seat to counteract the weight sounds like a lot less effort than what I'd have to do in a little Islander or something.
