Would you take someone to hospital in your car if they were going to bleed/vomit/ruin your interior?

I was just wondering what you would do if someone asked you to take them to hospital (ok, lets say the ambulances where all at another incident and couldn't get there in good time) but you knew that they were going to bleed/vomit/give birth etc in the car and ruin the interior, would you do it?

I carry a tarp in my car, just in case!

I went to hospital in a cab once (the hospital is only 5 minute drive so I didn't want to bother wasting an ambulances time) and had been throwing up all day so my mum took a bucket in the cab with us.... the cab driver didn't look impressed but still took us, luckily I didn't get any on the interior!!

Edit: And yeah I would because I've got leather seats in my car... Fabric definitely not!

Of course I would....if bleeding or about to give birth

If they were vomiting i would give them a bag..

If vomitting because they were drunk probably not unless i was really worried about their health.

    no,

would be better to wait for ambulance in case they went into cardiac arrest /shock etc you wouldn't be able to do anything for them while your plodding along in your car.

vomit maybe...as long as theres a bucket lol

And what are you going to do while waiting for the ambulance?

pahahahahahaha, my mum gave birth to my brother in the car !!

    Without a doubt i would.

My Mum gave birth to my sister on the passenger seat of my Dad's 6 month old car, and he's VERY protective of his cars

Wonder what they are planning, will it be a dump and quick get away when they get there?

When Mrs Evil_monkey went into labour whilst carrying Jr Evil_monkey we went to the hospital in our old car, not the brand new one we'd only bought a few weeks beforehand. I've seen what happens in childbirth before and there was no way I was going to be cleaning all that out of the new car afterwards.

Only just made it too! That's the one and only time she's ever told me to drive faster.

No way - not even if they were facing certain death.

I was just wondering as I helped someone once, a friend of a friend, and other people told me they wouldn't have. I found a child's waterproof mattress and towels to put in the car though and we were less than 5 minutes from A&E. The person is fine now
If it was a randomer and I didn't have any protective towels or anything I might consider asking someone else if they would do it  but if they said no I still think I would take them.
It just seemed like an interesting question to ask and get people's opinions.

As long as they don't dump in the car it's fine :P

I would take any of my family or my girl friend/her family but if it was a random person it would depends how serious it was

    I would

If they like.. cried and begged, I'd come up with an excuse like if it was a sunday I'd say "Sorry its 5 to 4 and I gotta buy some haribo from tescos"

I took a woman whose waters had burst to the hospital.

I was the reason her waters burst, so didn't have much choice really.

    Ridiculous! It's your car!

Isn't that what the roof racks for?

Bit off topic, but I was walking through Birmingham city centre one night and a guy came stumbling across the road to me saying he had been stabbed, and could I help him. I thought he was a drunk as their were no signs of blood as he approached me, just him walking very funny (like a drunk). I told him to 'do one' and I carried on my way. About 10 secs later I decided to look back incase he was following me and to my astonishment his whole back was dripping red. I rushed back and said you ok mate at which point he asked again for help. I looked around to see where I could get help and just down the road was a big hotel (big chain). As I helped the guy in the reception I shouted at the receptionist to phone for an ambulance as this guy had been repeatedly stabbed. At this point the guy was about to collapse so I told him to lie on the settee. The receptionist went absolute crazy at this point, shouting you are getting blood everywhere, just stand in one place and stop moving. I thought if he don't shut it soon we will need two ambulances. As the police and ambulance pulled up the man lost consciousness with collapsed lungs/liver. I am left standing there dripping in blood and I can still here the receptionist going on to the police about who is going to clean the mess up.

But anyway, yes i would help someone if i could.

    stranger, bleeding NOOOOO
    the rest would be fine

    :giggle:

If it's a lady about to give birth get some tarp down, the chemicals in a lady's 'waters' can actually rot the foam in a car seat over time, or so my midwife told me!
