Indeed.

start off with why you want to do the course

then why you think the course is right for you

Talk about your achievements, since you have alot, don't mention them all, dont wanna seem bragging like

finish with your hobbies n interests

the style of how you do this will depend on the course you wish to take, what subject(s) are you applying to study?

tell them about all of your achievements on here, they will be so impressed they will be happy to give you any course you want

very good link

Take a look at how some of these personal statements differ in their style of writing and how creativity in writing is more effectively used on creative based courses.

it depends on how much info you want to put in... usually, yes. Especially if the work is related to the course you wish to study.

Then your work/business related achievements are going to be particularly pertinent

Make sure you check and recheck for typos and grammatical errors before you write it down too.

Look at the course/ university prospectus and look for any 'buzzwords' they use and try to incorporate them.

Just had a wee look at mine.
Here's the basic structure:

1. Why you're applying for the courses and why you're intersted in those areas
2. School accomplishments/ awards/ clubs etc
3. Outside interests
4. Work experience/ conclusion

Good luck.

Have a good look through this, which tells you pretty much exactly how to do it:
ucas.ac.uk/stu…nt/

Draft a statement following the advice and then get your personal tutor/ head of Y12/ relevant teacher to have a look at it and give advice. They should also have a booklet of good practice drawing on the experiences of your school/college. Keep it straight forwards.

Uni admissions tutors are looking first and foremost for you to demonstrate a very positive attitude to the degree course you are applying for and they will look for evidence that you are interested and have already understood the basics and have read around the subject. If they do interviews then that is the time to show your depth and breadth but hint anyway in the personal statement.

I feel what I said is pretty different- in my opinion a bit clearer and more concise.

Don't dwell on anything undertaken more than 5 years ago - they will be looking for recent and relevent experiences and/or roles of responsibility. Anything "out of the ordinary" will make your statement stand out, so a quirky hobby has it's uses but explain WHY this is pertinent to your application

Happy to proof read/grammar check a draft if it is of any use to you.................... pm me if appropriate.

As a general guide, the majority of what you write should be connected to your course/university.

So anything with regards previous jobs and hobbies emphasise the benefits to your course or university in general.

Be ultra enthusiastic about your course, really sell yourself without coming across arrogant.

I would say that almost anything can be included if you put the right slant on it, don't be afraid to exagerate slightly.

Try and get as much in as you can without dwelling on one particular activity/job/skill.

Finally - be different. Most people will put teamwork/social skills/commitment/leadership etc as personality attributes and they are hard to avoid - but put them in a different context, and explain why you have those attributes.

What uni's are you going for? I'm doing Business and Economics at the moment @ Aston.

An afterthought - when I said be different concentrate on the introduction and conclusion. Uni admissions people read thousands of these, so if the first sentence stands out its a good start - even if you do sound a bit mental.

That he's also a fighter ace when it comes to foxes?

Just tell them what you tell us. Most places are legally obliged to take on a quota of special people, so you should get in no bother.
