    x box 360 help

    My son's 360 has started freezing and tonight won't work at all, just got the guarantee out and it is not dated but went online and it is one week over a year old. I bought it from Game. Do you think they would help me or am I doomed as an unfit parent for not taking action before???

    i took my xbox back to game, they wont swap it they say send it back to xbox

    As it's only a week over then Microsoft will likely repair it for free. Know a few people they've done it for. Give them a ring

    As I've posted before, it IS up to the retailer to get it fixed.

    Section 14 of the 1979 Sale of Goods Act (as amended in 1994) states that goods supplied by a retailer must be of 'satisfactory quality'. ... it's the retailer who's responsible if something breaks down unreasonably quickly or if it turns out to be faulty. The manufacturer is only responsible for the period during which its own guarantee lasts.

    This covered can be for up to 6 years.

    Write to the retailer quoting the above act and tell them to fix it, shariph.:thumbsup:

    Did you register it online when you bought it? My guarantee is ridiculous as it dates back before the console was even released (i.e. the manufacturing date).

    I don't suppose you used a Game Reward card when you bought it? This will help them identify the exact day you purchased it.

    No lights at all, one week over a year for the guarantee, so I just phoned them and they will honour the guarantee, they said to send it back in the box and they will replace f.o.c.!!!!!

    There you go. That's what they've done for a couple of my friends recently as well.

    they were going to charge me for the disk drive as i was having problems with mine just before the RROD they actually replaced it for free when they sorted the RROD out.

    might sound silly, but if there is no power then change the fuse in the plug.

    Every Xbox 360 gets those faulty 3 red rings - the extended 3 year garantee you got only covers faults regarding the 3RR, any other faults will not be covered. And believe me there are loads of different faults.
