I am looking to buy my husband an X-BOX for his birthday - can someone tell me the difference between X-BOX arcade and X-BOX premium and is there enough memory in the arcade version?
Also, does anyone know the cheapest place to buy one?! Thanks, Kate

Barely any memory on the arcade, best off with the premium/

Depends what you want to use it for. The arcade has 256mb of memory and the premium has a 60 gb hard drive. With the premium you also get a headset for xbox live and a ethernet cable for conecting to xbox live online. If he would play offline only then the arcade is fine and has enough memory for game saves, if he would play online then go for the premium as a hard drive is required for some online games. The arcade is rrp 129.99 and the premium rrp is £169.99 normaly if you shop around you can get a game or two and an extra controller for the rrp.
You could buy the arcade and at a later date add a hard drive from around £20 second hand and a headset around £7 second hand if you are unsure about the online requirements, however the £20 hard drive would only be a 20 gig and the arcade + second hand add on's would cost £157 ish making the premium good value for money. Hope this helps

I would recommend purchasing the premium because the xbox is more and more requiring memory if you want to use it to its full potential, with installing games to the hard drive, downloading demos, downloading arcade games, and they are soon going to allow us to download full retail games.
