Xbox 360 Console, What would you do?

My son's xbox console has gone up the shoot this week! Three months out of the warrenty! typical as it happened like that last time as well!

So what do I do? pay microsoft eighty something pound to repair it? Have been offered another by a friend for £70 which has 6o whatever it is harddrive. Get someone to try to mend it for £20. Or do I Wait and get him the neW xbox 360 that's coming out, Yes I know all you gamers would like one of them! But really a few opinions would be helpful as i really no nothing abut them. Thanks in advance

Fix yourself, xclamp repair. Buy a kit off ebay for a few quid and do it yourself. If you're not confident pay the £20 for someone to do it.

If you are feeling flush then go for the new 360 model though.

I have heard of people who accidently get their towel wrapped round their xbox and low and behold a red ring appears which is covered under a 3year MS warranty

get down asda living n get a new 1 for 90 quid with fifa world cup......flog old 1 for 20 quid . flog new power brick, controller and new 1 ends up costing you about £50 with game.........flog game £25 = £25 new console:)

the 3 red rings gets you THREE years of warranty cover. It was extended by Microsoft a while back because of everyone complaining. It is retrospective as well, so if you've had it 2 years and 3 months and bought it new, I see no reason why it wouldn't be covered. Call Microsoft support and they should do it free

If your interested I'll buy it off you as is...send us a message if your interested

I had the same phone call with Microsoft. Just complain then you get it fixed for free outside of warranty.

I just register them online and see if the warranty RROD will cover it. Usually does.

Forget an xclamp fix they are useless. A reball will probably cost about £50, but should last alot longer if leaded solder balls are used

Towel trick is useless also. those sort of fixes just last days.
