Xbox 360 Elite freezing problem.

Hi guys and girls, my elite keeps freezing, just started doing it today. When I first power up its ok but when I sign in to my profile and xbox live it signs in and then after a few seconds freezes up.

Had the elite for no more than 2 months.

Anybody else having the same problems (might be a live issue)?

If not, any ideas?

Oh dear chances are you are either going to get the dreader RROD or an E74 error. Basically means you will need to send it back to Microsoft, who will pick up, fix and send back for no charge. TBH though if it is only a few months old I would be tempted to take it back to where you bought it and ask for a replacement.

One other thought is to clear the cache which may resolve it. wikihow.com/Del…360

OMG RROD!!!

been lucky so far and never had the rrod in the god knows how many years ive had xboxes for so that sucks!

Will give that a try matey cheers, I'll let you know if it works. Yeah will get in touch with Sainsburys if I cant get it sorted. Anybody know how they are with returns?

Its only two months old, you should have no problem getting a replacement at all :thumbsup: Havent dealt with sainsbury's before but im sure there not aboue UK law :-D

Yeah mate have just spoken 2 sainsburys and there collecting it on thursday and will get a new one sent over. Me being an idiot forgot to ask what I need to give them. Do you reckon ill need to send hard drive/controllers etc as my hard drives got loads on it!?

Did you get the latest xbox update? If you did you can now save your game saves to a USB pen drive, not sure if it will work but it may allow you to transfer them back onto the replacement xbox. If you have an old xbox and the 20gig hard drive perhaps take the 120 and the 20 along to a gamestation and ask one of guys to back it up onto the 20 and then once you get the new elite ask them to tranfer back again. I'm sure for a £5 they will be happy to do so.

if it is being sent directly to microsoft then all you need to send off is the console itself no hard drive and controllers, if you are getting a replacement from sainsburys then you will probs have to return everything.

if you kno a friend who has an xbox who has recently updated it, u could back it all up on a usb stick
