Xbox 360 Game insurance advice

Hi

Just enquiring on my sisters behalf,
she bought a Xbox 360 bundle from Game last week,
and when she bought it, he told her to take out their
insurance on it because they can overheat and burn out ( £20 odd ).
But after looking on Games website, at a cooler, somebody
says that if they burn out, Microsoft fix them free for the first 3 years.
Is this true, and if so does this mean that she really doesn't need
the Game insurance, and is the Game insurance worth it.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Many thanks

yeah xbox will repair RROD up to 3 years after purchase, so I guess you dont really need the insurance. and dont buy the clip on fan coolers either, they cause more problems that they solve

Thanks for the info

If the policy you took out includes accidental damage you may as well keep it now you have it.

Like Sheep87 said, the RROD defect is covered for 3 years by manufacturer (keep your receipt though just in case they are funny about it)

MMMM, I'd better get her to have a look at the policy.

ok, red ring of death is covered for 3 years, any damage is covered for 1 year by microsoft. which means sending it away to be repaired/replaced.
the game insurance will enable you to take it into their store and they replace it on the spot so it saves alot of time and effort.

Sounds like a big con.

That's what I was wondering.

The Game insurance is just against everything apart from theft really, if you drop it or break the control or spill fluids into the system then they have to replace it or give you something of similar value or something. The normal warranty that microsoft give is only for the RROD and other mechanical failures.
