Xbox 360 - Use gamer tag on 2 consoles?

I have just purchased a 2nd xbox 360 for the bedroom.

Could anyone tell me can I have the same gamer tag on both machines and will they both update when I have been playing.

Do I also need to buy another xbox live membership?.

Is there anyway that progress on games that are not played live will be synced.

Are there any points I need to be aware of with the above.

Thanks Gav

one only, you could keep recovering gamertag or simply pop profile on mem card or usb and move between them you cannot copy it (legitimately) or have on 2 console without corrupting one

If you choose to recover gamertag to 2nd console or from 2nd back to 1st and you had played offline when you recover your gamertag you will lose any achievements you gained whislt playing offline (well so the warning goes)

Tbh the only time to recover is when you want 2 licenses on 2 consoles

Just use a usb stick.... for the gamerprofile.

Both

Ceate new user(xbox live account)use 1 of your 3 free 1 month xbox live trials, buy a usb pen put your existing gamer profile on the usb use on the 360 you got now then when you want to use your [original]gamer profile you use downstairs / upstairs take the usb up with you plug in usb stick and sign in

Thanks again, I will give it a go and see how easy it is for the wife to do.

Its a shame Microsoft didn't make it so it could be synced over the network.

You can if u save it on ur nas drive which is accessible from both consoles. . But not worth the hassle imo

Hi, have you got any info on that. Sounds interesting.

^ removable/portable USB drive for your profile and game saves (max 16GB), is the only way.

It would be nice to have a roaming XBL profile with games saves, but that's not going to happen.
