Possibly you need to change the settings on the xbox 360?, is it set to 60hz, and High def?

You may need a conversion box, like the ones on Amazon & other sites.
Or
Plug back into a working display, change the settings, then plug into the Samsung.

Plug it back into whatever you were using it on before.

Have you got an LCD computer monitor?, For quickness you could just plug it into that....

Old TV no longer exists! Is it possible to plug in a lappy to change?

dont remind me of the words 'Mode Not Supported' i had a samsung TV and this is all that i saw when i wanted to play my xbox or my ps3, the way i solved the problem was by returning the TV and getting a replacement TV, now the TV works perfectly fine but another problem has occured, gotta ring the techguys company and get their engineers out to me asap

Nope!

Have you got a component cable? :?

Have you anything else you can test on the VGA connection (PC?) to make sure there isn't a problem there?

I'm assuming you must have another cable of some sort, either composite (Core Xbox) or composite + component (Premium, Elite) you could use to connect to the TV to get started?

Fixed now guys thanks.

Prob was, this used to be on a 42inch and now currently used on a 32inch. Prob was it was set at max res at 42, so my 32 had probs with it.

Hooked it up to a 67, and put it on low res, then hooked it back up and the 32 to get the max possible res

Thanks for your suggestions, rep +

Excellent, glad you got it sorted

John

My friend has moved down to Birmingham and he's now connecting his 360 to his brother's screen. It's also a Samsung and he can't get it to work with the VGA either. He's savvy enough to know how to navigate the dashboard purely by ear and can't get it working at any resolution.
