how long you have had it will determine if blockbuster will take it back from you. 30 days or less and they will or if you are a good customer or your face fits and they like you they may be nice and replace it but do not hold your breath.

I was told recently (shte) that you only get 28 days to register them from purchase now :lol

You will have to register your console to get a repair there will be no way round that.

Someone may know a way round it but cannot see it myself

The Internet

E68: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive … E68: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it, This can also be caused by a Hard Drive Eprom Error. Some also believe this might be caused by a problem with the fans.

Just try taking the hard drive off and seeing if it works without it, then perhaps plug it back in again if it does?, if not I would strongly recommend taking it back to BB just to see what they say, if anything all they can say is no, but if you don't try you don't get

Thanks mike it works without the hard drive, although do you reckon it will work for long

Just got my elite back from M$ yesterday after being repaired. It was 11 months old from new and I had not registered it on their site - I rang up on 0800 5871102 and the CS person entered the details & said it was within warranty and so post it off to them etc - it's all pretty straightforward via their website & email update of repair status/ shipping tracking etc
took under 2 weeks to fix. (Germany & back)

Cheers although seems to be fixed (fingers crossed) for now

if it needs fixing, then register it when you call them (within warranty period) otherwise don't bother registering if you intend to sell it on

Does it fail again if you plug the hard drive back in?
