Xbox gold serial code destroyed help
My was bought 12 months Xbox live for Xmas, but he peeled the silver strip off instead of scratching it, and after his dad tried to rescue it, it was missing 3 digits, so therefore it's useless, is there anyway he can get it replaced? can Microsoft tell that the code hasn't been used, if they gave them the serial number from the card?
Why lie?
This would be your best bet, get in touch and see what happens.
sorry should of said it is missing numbers on the code.
Alternatively you have now unlocked the new Xbox Gold mini game, there's around 50,000 combinations for those 3 extra characters. Prize is 12 months subs
The bad news;
Microsoft won't do a thing. Saw this a few times on different forums.
Good news;
This is a maybe. Someone said if the card has a bar code, it should be able to be scanned at a store to get the code from it.
Im unsure if the seller at Amazon has a store or sells from their home, so email them.
If not,
I'd say, ring up Game.co.uk, and ask their support and ask if it's true. If they confirm it, ask them if you would be able to take the card to one of their stores and have someone scan it to get the code. Explain that the card was for your son (?) and what happened. You might be able to get somewhere.
If the bit about the barcode is correct, could the op not scan it themselves with a phone and see if anything similar to the partial code they have comes up?
Like this : support.xbox.com/en-…ode
Could always sell it on to someone who has a kinect if you don't have one?
When I said scan, I mean through a till. Im unsure if there is an app that would give inside retail information like that.
The other option is a QR code and kinect.
Trouble with that is, someone could use the card. then scratch off the last 3 digits and then take a photo of it.
I would personally try and contact ms. I'm sure they will be able to use the barcode etc to see if its been redeemed, and issue a new one.
