Trying to hook up my xbox to the HD TV how do i make it HD
Only using the AV cable

take the green blue & red cables from the scart block and plug them directly into the red green blue component connection on the tv. then take the red and white (from where the cable splits) and plug them into red and white audio in on tv.

Then you need to go to xbox dashboard and system settings. One called display i think, change the resolution to 1080i or 1080p, you should notice a big difference in clarity when it changes.

I forgot, also where the scart looking cable plugs into your xbox there is a switch on it. Switch it from TV to HDTV.

Why did you say xbox then?

Co's no one wants to admit to still using the original. Would make whoever look poor and stuck in the past.

Really? I thought they were really popular due to being able to become a media centre and for emulation.

I have 4 modded originals :P.

What modchip did you use?. I have a xenium ice which was working great until i moved house recently and it doesnt work at all now,the wires where always a bit dodgy when you moved the xbox but Ive checked them and they are fine.

I had 5 with various mod chips aladdin 32/64, executor 2.1 each one HDD upgrade upto 120gig as no lba48+ on any programmed bios @ that time gave one away to my sisters son a few years back . My son has 1 not used at all now I think. Mine is in a box somewhere. The other 1 is in front bedroom collecting all the dust from upstairs and 1 is in loft (I think) Such a waste.

I have one chipped and a couple soft modded (all myself) but I found the hardware struggled on my HDTV so I switched to a popcornhour, although it handles all the HD stuff the GUI is a little clunky so I'm now considering an Acer Revo with XBMC.

I have one with a 100 gig hd I use for emulation but its full up for some reason really fast(either that or its not registering the size right) but I thought to change the HD's it involved getting the key off them unless you chip it.

Thats good then, I might not need to since I have no games installed to it just emulators and roms but each emulator disc is like 2.2 gig each and I have like 4 of them and 3 seasons of South Park yet it tells me my HD is full! when the South Park episodes are like 175 meg each.
