    Xbox Live - Which router?

Im buying arouter tomorrow for out computer so when my Xbox arrives, hopefully I can get it sorted out quickly & get online.

Anyway, our internet is only running at about 1MB but the signal is onlybeing transfered about 4m, onto the next floor though so cannot get a wire unfortunately.

Does it make much difference which router I go for, if I get a cheap £20 will it still give me a good enough signal to transmit it?

    Any thoughts are welcome.

Also, with cable connections, does it have to run from the computer or could I run it from a different phone point to the Xbox?

    Cheers
    James

If you have cable modem then your phone line is null and void as you'll be getting the internet through Cable.

Oh no sorry haha! The ethernet cable or whatever it is called

Your network cable goes from back of 360 LAN to LAN 1 2 3 4 on back of router and lead from dslmodem/router to PC set auto on pc for network card under tcp/ip properties to assign IP network card, switch on dhcp in router and Upnp in router and set AUTO in 360 network settings for both IP and DNS..
