Xbox one on an older lcd tv

    Hi there
Following a discussion/debate I was persuaded/told to get an xbox one for the kids Xmas pressie
My concern is that the tv is an old Philips lcd
Will they really see a difference from fifa on a 360 to fifa on the one with the same tv
Will getting a 1080p tv be the only way to get the best out of it
Obvious question probably but nearly Xmas and I want to avoid the possible issue on the day
Any one had real experience of this
    Thanks

    You'll be fine.

Youl be ok but a 1080p tv makes a huge difference. What works in your favour is that if the first tv they play on is the one you have they'll be none the wiser!

To all those X1 games that don't run in 1080p.

Lack of an HDMI input on TV may cause an issue for you if that were to be the case.

That's ok then I was just pointing it out in case there was no HDMI port on TV

If you're going to be using both connected to the same tv and it has only one hdmi input, I would buy a hdmi splitter - they're fairly cheap ~£5.....

Ah sorry I see the confusion
Will be selling the 360 on here soon, was meaning from fifa now on the 360 to using fifa on the one on Xmas day
And will getting a 1080p tv be worth it etc
    Thanks

If you can, I would hang on to the 360. Lots of a cheap games which still have plenty of life in them....

Bit of déjà vu there, that's my original argument not to get an xbox yet, either that or the ps3 is going
    Consoles r us!

Personally I'd buy an hdmi switch to connect 2 xboxes to one hdmi port. A splitter would let you connect 1 xbox to 2 tvs.

I doubt you will notice much difference with fifa. It is pretty much the same game for the last 10 years. If all they are going to play in fifa you might as well keep the 360 or just get them a stick and piece of string which would be more entertaining.

You must be doing something pretty amazing with that stick for it to be more fun than an Xbox 360.
