xbox one / one s / tv question

10 year old wants xbox one for Christmas primarily to play fifa 17 and minecraft. I'm not into games so not sure what to go for...

Baring in mind its for a 10 yr old to mess about on, Would i be better off picking up a 1tb xbox one original model and fifa seperate or going for the 500gb one s fifa bundle and minecraft seperate? How many games woll the 500gb hold?

Will also be getting a bigger tv to go with it. Not interested in paying for the 4k (hence the one/one s dilemma or it would be a no brainer) so next question will the xbox do everything a smart tv does?

And what would you consider to be the essential accessories to each associated console? Birthday is in January so not going mad as can get non-essentials then.

plenty of bundle deals which are cheap.
id get 500gb for him, unless theirs more kids in family

I've got about 12 games on my 1tb and it's just below 40% used. On some deals you can get the 1tb for just £20 more so it's worth it .
You can use apps like YouTube, Netflix, catch up tv etc just like a smart tv would on your Xbox.
Depends which deals you are looking at whether to get which games. Generally Fifa more expensive so if that's in a cheap bundle ...

£20 for EA access subscription for the year. Lots of games in the "vault" now.. Including Fifa 16.. you would also get a discount on fifa 17 if you did wish to purchase that as well

Thanks... side question.... do you HAVE to upload them onto the drive or can you play straight from disc?

They will need installing from a disk for most games which will happen automatically when you put the disk in if no internet connection, if you connect to the internet they will update when you try to play them.

Yes it needs to install. Can take a while for some games. Games are about 40gb each (estimate).

If you think you'll have a lot of games on it at once then yes to 1tb. But if you think your son will only have 3-4 games on the go and once he's bored you can uninstall the game making room for more . But if it's only a little bit more get the 1tb
There's no need for the one s unless you will benefit from 4K etc .
My nephews are 11&12 and have just upgraded from an Xbox 360 500gb-they mainly played minecraft . Just been allowed Xbox live gold to play with their friends online (monitered)
