Hi, does anyone know how to turn off the power to the USB ports on the Xbox one when it is turned off. I have an external HDD attached and is always on which can't do it any good.

In setings menu you can mark TURN OFF EXTERNAL HDD WHEN CONSOLE IS OFF.

If you have games installed on your external HDD, they wont update when your Xbox is off if you turn your USB ports off. Slightly annoying when you come to play a game online and it needs a massive update before you can play.

I have had a 2tb drive plugged into my Xbox since not long after release and never had any issues. Nothing worse than sitting down to play and being met with the dreaded update message. So it's best to let games update whenever they can.
Does not work with system updates though and being in the preview program that is quite regular.
