Received a yellow sticker on some good ordered from Gearbest.com this morning which says "goods not fulfilling the conditions prescribed by articles 9 and 10 of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community" does anyone know what this mean and what I need to do if anything?

I read this article before but it doesn't say if I owe anything or if I need to do anything or not. Do you know if I do? Item was 16 euros

From what I understood, te parcel would have been withheld if you were to pay any (additional) duty.
You've had it delivered, so nothing is more is due from you.

Can they not send a bill after delivery in the post at a later date?

I can only guess, but I'd have have thought they could potentially do that, but would only bother if it were a high-value item ... exactly the same as if you bought directly from outside of the EU.

Wrong. We had books delivered my OH ordered from overseas and a couple of months later got a bill for the Duty which was around £80. Learned a lesson there!

How much did the books cost?

Cant remember exactly now but around 100 quid I think.
Hi all
Whenever you buy any goods outside of the EU you will be charged VAT/Tax if the cost of your goods exceed £15.00 Sometimes goods will have this labels on but nothing ever comes of it. Example, I just received a parcel, I paid £2.70 for the item but they stuck a yellow label on it! Just someone at customs having nothing better to do in my case as it was well under the allowed £15.00. I buy a lot of goods from China but always in small orders under £15.00. Anything above and you are responsible for paying the VAT/Tax. Hope that helps.
I have had yellow sticker for mobile phones and smaller items bought from China. Just ignored as no further action was needed.
