Yesterday's lottery results - 7 jackpot winners!

Looking at yesterday's lottery results, I see that there are 7 jackpot winners. i wonder is this the most amount of people who have ever won a jackpot in a single draw? each won about £225,000 as the prize fund was about £1.4 million (approx). Bit of a damper to find out that you got all 6 numbers but didn't even win a million quid let alone a quarter of a million. I know something is better than nothing and it's £225,000 these ppl never had before, but still.... you can't exactly push the boat out!!

The most number of winners in one draw was 133

"Saturday 14th January 1995
There were a massive 133 jackpot winners and over 2 million prize winners in the 9th draw - figures which are freakish to say the least (and that also meant the prizes were pretty lousy)... "
id be so ****** haha

is this for the (main) UK national lottery and 133 winners for the jackpot prize? what were the numbers.... 1,2,3,4,5,6 lol!
Still, £225 000 would be nice. Pay the mortgage off and some left over ready for my midlife crisis in a few years.
The numbers were 7, 17, 23, 32, 38, 42.
And the prize each got was £122,510.

Oh, and it was a rollover.

Lot of money put on back then.

Yes, it was the UK main draw

"The winning numbers were 7, 17, 23, 32, 38, 42 and 48, all of which lie in central columns of the ticket"

i.e. when filling in a lottery slip, choosing random numbers you tend to go down the middle, one per line.

The above numbers fell around this line, hence the number of winners apparently.

lol, I do 23, 32 and 48 so would have won a tenner had I not been vastly underage in 1995!!!

Edit: Incidently - why on earth was the jackpot so low? Normally no less than £2.4mil
I was shocked to find that on Saturday there were 4 winners for the jackpot with the lowest number being 34 (I think)
jackpot was low as 7 people won.
My guess is people choose birthdays... which are normally numbers below 31.
e.g. 30th May would give you two numbers (30/05)

All the numbers yesterday were below 30.

+1 for the birthday theory.

However with regards to the jackpot, I meant why was the total available to win (the 1.5 million) so low? Usually its still around 2 million on a Wednesday and they always state the estimated jackpot before the draw so it's not like the number of winners effects it. Just unfortunate I guess that so many people won on a day when the jackpot was (relatively) small.
i was shocked that it wasn't a rollover last saturday let alone 4 winners...
and then 7 win it this week... are we going for double figures this saturday?
closest i have got is 5 numbers and my sixth was one number from the bonus ball... a measly £600 i won for that ... it was £2500 on the next draw... was gutted !
