Yet again I've been let down on a lift to London this weekend...

Going up to stay with some friends on Saturday and our lift can't go that day... Been checking trains but haven't found the bargains I was hoping for.

    The Super Off Peak Return - £24.50 x 2 = £49
Coaches on megabus are £7.50 x 2 and £4.50 x 2 = £24.50 total but we'll be unable to stop in Brighton on the way back, or, take bikes...

ARGH! Rep for anyone that can come up with a cheaper solution - and I'm not cycling 67 miles with all the stuff we need for 4 days!

Tried national express? I used to get return to London for less than a tenner and I'm in Stafford

I think megabus cover National Express - haven't tried them directly. I've just used theTrainline.com and found that a PRICEBUSTER DAY RETURN is on £13.50 - we'll just use ut to travel up and give them away when we get to London. I kinda like this because we'd like to stay with my brother Wednesday and Thursday (we're on hols) and London to Brighton is a nice cycle... weather permitting...

HMMM... decisions decisions... what would you do?

There are some awesome fares if you book singles on the coach! Yay!

twice in one month, ever thought about getting some reliable friends -lol

Can you split the fare in two anywhere?
Get the bus, the 700(i think?! Used to go past my house...) goes all the way from Brighton to Portsmouth. Just make sure you go to the loo first!

Walking is cheaper and better for the envirment.!

Walking Brighton to Worthing is enough to kill you, I wouldn't suggest going all the way to Portsmouth

LOL! He's not actually a friend. The last time it was this time it's a friends little brother. I always find out at the last moment!

    Definately.

I think it hinges on how much we want to cycle. The £13.50 saver do-dah looks great. It gives us the option to cycle down to my bro if we want, then cycle home? A nice healthy holiday. We take the chance that'll we'll get very wet!

I would be happy to but my gf is too easily scared by the media! London is about an hour from me but it's so expensive to get to. As a comparision it's only around £18 to get to Leicester - VIA LONDON - and that about 4 hours...
