Yodel at it again

So ordered a new ambassador 3ds last night
Was meant to be delivered today
Marked as delivered around 11am but
No console has been delivered
Rang yodel but said it's been signed for by ******* but it's unreadable
So how do they know it's been sign for by myself

Typical yodel

Nintendo want me to wait till 8pm
If it's not delivered ring them again Monday
So annoying

have you asked your neighbours?

check around your house, your back garden...........maybe even your roof knowing them.

No sign of it
Even better yodel rang back and said
The driver didn't get no answer
And just happens a random so called neighbour said they would take it and put it around the back for me

So either the drivers got a new 3ds
Or the Random bloke who sign an unreadable name has it

Just great

Just had something similar happen to me, a few emails and some cctv footage and now the driver has the sack.
I bet no neighbour has taken it in for you.

Original Poster

Knocked on all the doors of neighbours and no one has it
I have no cctv bit concerned what's going to happen really
As it's a limited edition new 3ds that's not out in the shops in the uk yet

I literally cringe when I'm made aware any of my packages are 'arriving' via Yodel or MyHermes.

Really hope you sort it mate.

Are there any honest and reliable courier firms left? or are they all employing poor people who are under pressure to deliver a million parcels in 5 minutes?

To be honest I really don't know, I use DPD personally for work and never have any issues.

Yeah DHL at our place, but I don't think I've ever seen those firms do deliveries for non corporates? I'm probably wrong though.

For personal items I never have issues with Royal Mail, I have only ever had one issue, and that was about 5 years ago when I sold a Sat Nav on eBay, which ironically got 'lost in the post'.

They don't even care if you are in. I got a parcel delivered on Thursday and i was in at the time.

Watched the van pull up, so i got up to answer the door, opened the door no one there so presumed it must have been for next door then and sat back down.

As i went to go back out to work after lunch noticed that there was a yodel card hanging out of the outside of my letterbox stating that the parcel was in the garage and that there was no answer.

Will be complaining on Monday due to the last time my dogs got out of my garden as they didn't close the gate behind them properly.

Not that I would encourage this, but: is it possible to claim you never received the item if they just leave it in the bin or somewhere outside of your front door?

personally I've had no problems with parcels sent via myhermes and must of done over 50 in last 6 months.

Same myhermes has always usually been good for me but one time the driver opened my front door and shouted parcel and left it on the stairs...never had anything go missing though

I can understand that the drivers are under a lot of pressure to get through their schedule some get paid 60p (give or take) per item delivered, but that is still no excuse for a lack of care.

Amazon Logistics are just as bad - the tried to deliver a package 4 days earlier than the Amazon.com estimate (an estimate which id used when deciding when to order to ensure someone was at home)

I was away on business but their site says it was signed for by me so im now having to give them proof that I was at the other end of the country on said day, i bet their driver isnt having to prove he hasnt pocketed it or delivered it to the wrong address (no card left anyway) grrrr

Probably because DPD do deliveries how deliveries should be done, one hour delivery slot, good tracking system that's near live when they are on the rounds. Polite drivers, convenient options to leave parcels in safe place/neighbour if you're not in. I hate waiting for Yodel to arrive as it's usually at least a day later than promised. I love buying when I know DPD are the courier as it makes my life easier.

I just don't get how other companies can't see how the way DPD handle things to be a good thing for them to do as well, as I'm sure it must make for fewer redeliveries giving customers the option to know when stuff will arrive and decide how they want the courier to handle it.

I remember the last dealing I had with Yodel was when I ordered I Dell IPS monitor. Guy dumped it outside the front of my house, quite a busy road and went to leave. I opened the door and said as he got in his van "do you need a signature" all I got was "na" and he drove off.

Contacted my point of purchase who confirmed I have signed for the consignment. I politely informed them that was not mine and the driver had signed for it himself. They said they would investigate but I don't know it they bothered.

Feel bad for you, Hope it all gets sorted out.

Good experiences with Hermes and DPD.

My heart sinks when I find out something is coming via Yodel who are definitely the worst. Ordered a pushchair from M&P. Waited in all morning, got a txt at 1pm to say driver found no one in so to arrange delivery. I was livid! Phoned M&P, explained to them who checked with Yodel who came back with the usual rubbish of we did knock on the door which is blue ( as can be seen perfectly on Google maps ) and they delivered it. Hmmmm? An hour later Yodel turned up with my pushchair as they had apparently delivered it by mistake to someone in a nearby village on a road with the same name. Yeah right! Unfortunately it seems Yodel will be picking up a lot of the ex City Link contracts so will still be about.

Hope you get your delivery sorted.

It should be compulsory for retailers to state which courier service they use so the customer can make an informed choice to buy from them or not.

Actually i fitted CCTV to my house for 2 reasons.

1. Keep an eye on the cars
2. Catch out dodgey couriers that big retailers seem to love to use.

So far not been in a situation like you op but i await the time this happens. I would sit and enjoy burning a complete recorded cctv for the said day to a dvdr and sending it to the courier company and retailer.

To all you lot moaning about couriers.... Go back to the dark ages and use the high street!

Back in the day we had the coal man, milk man, ice cram man, bread man, potato and other veg man etc all drive around delivering in the streets.

Good times.

Once again, Yodel are a courier network, it's like complaining about your local paperboy to the whole uk. I get no issue with Yodel, well no more than any others, DHL are owned by Yodel anyway, and as for DPD, well they have damaged 3 of the last 5 parcels, UPS have been the most reliable for me, but i'm sure they have been terrible for someone else.

At the end of the day, all couriers are as bad as one another

exactly, ordered my new 3ds with the free postage option as last time I ordered from them with free postage it came by royal mail, I was expecting it to come at the weekend as it said normal dispatch within 2 to 5 days, release day came and people on my twitter feed were getting theirs delivered all good by dpd because they had paid for 1 day, imagine my disappointment when the day after release mine is showing as in the hands of yodel, luckily it turned up as I had the front door open putting my shoes on the school run, if it had turned up a few mins later It may have been left on the doorstep, saying that tho the last 3 deliveries from yodel have been fine, think we have a new guy a older asian
gentleman delivered all 3, 1 he left next door and carded us correctly.

Still I want to know before I order, Nintendo and others are doing themselves out of more cash, if it said on the site then I would have paid for the next day by dpd to be on the safe side and the same applies to amazon if they actually told you in with the options I would only pick amazon logistics for cheap things that don't matter or never pick them as a option at all, they are my bane

Never had a problem so far with myhermes have had the same lady for the past 3-4 years. She always texts before she comes. However OP hope you do manage to get this sorted

ordered a pack of phone protectors via Amazon reseller on 2nd December 2014 it has still yet to arrive but the seller produced a receipt to say it had been sent so would not refund me and the courier clsim to have no record leaing me out of pocket until resolved and without a screen protector

I think some of these firms contract out to private individuals, I see them pull up in their private cars to deliver.
Slight chance it has not been delivered, happened to me, out for delivery - delivered, following day out for delivery again - actually got it.

Yup and considering they only get 50p per parcel delivered they don't like to hang around so would rather fling it over the fence to get on with the next drop...pun intended

What does that have to do with Yodel? I highly doubt anyone would use a courier other than Royal Mail for some screen protectors.

yodel issue here

missed frst delivery as was in work, missus arranged for them to come back saturday as i was off. stayed in allday in living room playing evolve beta and nobody knocked on the door or anything, come monday a second slip saying 3rd delivery failed. now parcel is at there HQ wherever that is

Still waiting on a delivery I placed last Wednesday.....the courier is UK Mail so no surprises there...

Got my delivery From Yodel today, I wasn't in but they delivered to my next door neighbour. No complaints here.

Useless- do not touch with a

I'm fed up of them turning up with any mix of the following;
Days late
After 10pm
Awful driver attitude
'No one was in so you need to reorganise your delivery online' texts/emails
Leaving parcels 'in a safe place' without bothering to knock on the door.

City link were also terrible before their demise.
Yodel need to improve or else they will end up the sane.

I had a delivery at 1am once.
Poor driver but not really acceptable to turn up after 7pm in my opinion.
The past few deliveries they've turned up 9pm - 10.30pm
