You can use Bluetooth earphones, speakers and controllers with your Amazon TV stick

Just in case you're an Amazon TV stick owner but didn't know this, a firmware change added Bluetooth, so this makes the TV stick practically match the Roku 3 in features but at a third of the cost.

I tested it yesterday, works well with my £12 Bluetooth earphones.

No ethernet means it is practically not identical to the Roku 3 I'm afraid, and is the reason I wouldn't buy one. Thanks for the info though.

I own 4K Fire TV Box and there is no discernible difference connected via either method. The wi-fi reception where it is kept is not that great either. I used a Fire TV Stick there before I upgraded , the wi-fi on these devices is pretty amazing.
I always connect via cables for my gaming PC and consoles but for streaming content I am happy to use wi-fi (5ghz).

Prefer android box to Amazon TV stick, you could always enable bluetooth using APK available from google on the stick anyways. I wonder why they decided after all this time to enable it now for everyone...

Does an unknown brand Android streamer have an app store where you can pick up the most-needed apps though? The ones I'm most interested in is the catch-ups, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Demand 5, 4od and Youtube of course.

Fire stick, at it's price point, is excellent for non-techie folks.

Most if not all "unknown" android boxes have access to the google app store so you can just download apps you need.

But yes i'll agree that android fire stick is perfect for non techie folks.

This is groovy

Great, finally, thanks! (_;)
