It is a tough choice, but Emily Thornberry (Shadow Foreign Secretary) continues to excel in preparation for her potential role as the UK's most senior diplomat, representing Britain's interests and reputation around the world. The link below is the latest testament to her highly unusual level of self-regard. I'm sure others may have their own clips or thoughts for the electorate to bear in mind when the next election comes along.

I did see that one also. Home and Foreign Secretary? Trouble is the rest of the pool of candidates are equally uninspiring.

Why labour? Why not other parties?

The Labour party conference is currently taking place in Brighton. Topical subject as the attached speech was made yesterday.

Couldn’t choose one as it has too many shady figures in the party.

The have a shadow member of world peace or some tripe, you couldn't make it up.

Emily Thornberry is just an embarrassment but does she have eyes for Jezza, how will his former love-fluff Diane take it, find out on Jeremy Kyle next week.

The whole bunch seem deluded, neurotic mentalists who simply are oblivious to anything.

Not to worry though apart from paying off student loans, saving the NHS, paying Europe, buying back the public services AND saving pensions, the education system, the environment, we just need to tax somebody. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH MONEY but that has never stopped them in the past. Only the young are stupid enough to fall for this fantasy land politics.

Lady Nugee is another champagne socialist who looks down on the working classes, typical of the type of party Labour has become, its no wonder White Van Man has deserted Labour for UKIP and the Conservatives.

She is certainly a first class hypocrite, but it is her vacuity and belief that she has an endearing sass that I find most off-putting.

Is it always that we build people up and then only to pull the rug from underneath them or they slip on something?!

No one is suitable in current politics because of one paramount factor: Brexit negotiation and implementation team work which will totally dominate the politics of the future.

The reason is that we have a few major political parties in UK (all different and they fight each other and within each party) with no single team and a Chairsperson to represent and to combine them together so as to effect EXIT coherently for all the parties: one best combined team to execute the democratic vote; there is just one party of the UK that represents us all as total British (interests).

But on the EU opposing side they have one quasi intra-multinational team which appears to represent 27 countries governments (each with multiple parties in each country) in a coherent voice which is to execute the UK termination as requested for the total EU interests (aka 27 governments' interests).

Whence we shall be forever fighting ourselves and get dissatisfied with all of our politicians.

What we should have done, since EU vote was direct voting, the politcal parties should have put forward the absolute best people and fused them together on secondment as one team to exit. (or stay or choose together the best for our total national interest). We are in an abysmal shape, we have Tory, Labour, LibDem, SNP, Tony Blair, Margaret Thatcher (from beyond the grave), Nigel Farage, Siddiq Khan, Brois Johnson, plus a lady on the side taking the governmemt to judicial reviews ... as separate teams.

Have some sympathy, she had to live in a council house and have her cats put down.
If it wasn't a false memory,

Corbyn speech - Diane Abbott just took a minutes standing ovation for being the victim of online abuse. What a strange party!!

Seems like both Labour and the Cons have a very small pool of talent to choose from.

Pretty much all career politicians with little experience beyond public sector work, I do love that the Shadow Secretary of State for Education doesn't have a single GCSE to her name.

To be fair, she won't get a standing ovation for her double standards, maths skills or racist comments.

Change the speaker, language and location, remind you of anything,

Just for balance, Theresa May is having an absolute 'mare with her keynote conference speech. Was first interrupted by a Lee Nelson prank handing her a P45 (supposedly from Boris). Then she endured the worst, longest, and most embarrassing fits of coughing and drying up that I have witnessed from a public speaker. If her authority was already fragile, this has been an unmitigated disaster. Had this on in the background, and you really couldn't have made it up. Rushed off at the end looking a bit tearful.

You already replied...

Picking between a May led Tory party and a Jezza led Labour is similar to being forced to choose which leg to chop off....

surely there should be a different option.....

dont make me pick!
