Case cooling that is:

I'm upgrading my system and can't decide how to set my case fans.
I have two fans, one at the rear and one in the side window of the case.

Do I set them to suck the hot air out or to blow cold air in. I'm tempted to blow cold air in from the side (over the GFX card and CPU) and then exctract the hot air at the back.

What are your thoughts on this?

I thought this was a really dirty thread.

Where does the fan at the back mainly blow towards? And how high is it on the case, top, middle, bottom?

By the sounds of it because heat rises, if your fan is fairly near the top of your case use the back one to extract heat and the one from the side to bring cool air in because its your GPU and CPU which tend to generate the most heat.

How long before Juliet Bravo, Jenny bubbles & Firehaven post in here..........

HELLOOO!!!

The standard method is to have a intake fan at the front and the back ones to exhaust so its all going in one smooth direction

My thermaltake case is the opposite way round, what you said would make more sense except the front fan is behind a huge plastic casing so I guess there would be little cool air to blow in.

I was unsure about it but this is the way they were when I bought it, blowing in from back and out at front, so I guess it's right :?
