    Zavvi Shocker!

My girlfriend bought me COD4 for the PC from Zavvi Dundee for our anniversary. When I opened it not only was the front cover ripped, but the disc was scratched and there was not even a CD key in the box! It was quite clearly second hand, I cant believe they would have the cheek to sell somethin which is clearly second hand and incomplete as new. It even had the security protected sticker on it...tuttut will be going down for a rant tomorrow

    They'll say you did it....

If they do Im quite confident I can convince them otherwise. Lay down some Sales of Good Act 1979 *BOOM* lol, and let them know Im willing to take this to their head office if I have to...that should convince them I'm not chancing my arm. Im still confused about how a second hand game ended up in their stock?

Nope wrong they are now owned by Head Entertainment led by Simon Douglas founder of Zavvi, still trading under the Zavvi name in Dundee though.

If we all stuck to our guns and didn't buy from Zavvi this would show these fatcat bosses that they cant mess us around.
Look at how many people lost out shortly after buying gift vouchers from them.
People tend to forget the way Zavvi shat all over the customer. :x

Just a heads up warning for everyone concerning the whole Zavvi/Head situation. The boss of both companies is a chap called Simon Douglas. On Xmas Eve 2008, just 15 months after rebranding the stores, he'd lead "Chavvi" (as we always knew them) to bankrupcy , with debts over £109 million. Zavvi were also partially responsible for Woolworths crashing as the £109 million was all owed to EUK (which was in fact part of Woolies). However, Douglas managed to spin it brilliantly by announcing that it was actually EUK's downfall that had caused Zavvi to fail. At that time there were over £4 million worth of Zavvi tokens in circulation which the company then refused to accept back, despite trading well into the New Year. Now, for a song, Simon Douglas has bought back all the remaining Zavvi stock from the administrators and taken VERY SHORT-TERM LEASES (some only a few months) on 8 former Zavvi stores re-naming them "Head". Surely it doesn't take Einstein to work out that these are merely short-term clearance stores and I guess you don't have to be Nostradamus to predict where "Head" will end up. The moral here being NEVER EVER BUY ANY "HEAD" GIFT-TOKENS!
