The database updates itself all day long but due to there being over 100k items it can take a few days to cycles through to the same browse node again and refresh the prices. So if Amazon raises the price it could take a bit of time before that item gets deleted from the database.

Hope that makes sense? If it persists for more than a few days max there might be a problem though and I'd like to know

Hmm... CDs are my thing, and if you sort "Music" by "Price", the list hasn't changed since about November, and virtually nothing on the first page of 50 items is available (either at all, or at the price specified).

errr that doesn't sound good. Let me take a look. I haven't browsed through it lately to tell you the truth.

This is true, the list contains many items that haven't ben in stock or available at that price for months.

Still working on this guys. It looks like new items are still being added but some of the old ones where the price has gone up may not be deleted. Hopefully should have this worked out soon...

Do these products get updated in a general list, if so it may be better to update the more common wanted ones first (by collecting statistics of search feature, amazon sales rank, links from the hotdeals part)

Ok the import etc. in the Amazon Deals has been worked on and it should be in better shape now. There are still some outdated offers in there but it should be getting cleaned up. Amazon also seemed to have some problems with their data lately which resulted in some bizarre numbers...

Other than the 1p prices on some books I think it is pretty much good now. The way it works has been tweaked a bit more to make sure old offers are purged so hopefully it won't get so out of control again.

Thanks for your feedback guys

ive found this aswell recently on a book called labyrinth.
showed £2.47 on the amazon deals but it was £5.47 on amazon

It takes a while for them to be removed because the deal scanner has to check it on the Amazon site before it can get deleted. This means there may be some offers a day or two old, especially if it was a mis-price and Amazon changed it quickly.

ah ok that explains it then!

cheers for that duckmagic!!

I thought it was a cache flow problem

Hehe
