Amazon links I click on go to where they should.

I think it's only done when a mod edit the goto .

philmitchell,

I suspect the vast majority of links do work as intended. There may be a few links submitted by users that contain much more info than is required.

e.g.

amazon.co.uk/gp/…294

really only needs to be: amazon.co.uk/gp/…61E

Quite often the links can be so much longer (applies to all merchants). It depends on where the source originated to an extent, as many deals are found through email campaigns/price comparison websites/google searches. Many of those add on additional elements to the URL.

Best bet though, if in doubt, give us a shout. We'll review asap. We aim to make it as simple as possible when posting and providing the best experience possible, so do apologise when frustrations arise.

its a bug in the auto affiliation tool that causes this (or does on other forums), for some reason it doesn't convert all the links properly and istead of a 404 error it redirects to the homepage

When I click on "Go To Deal" nothing happens on my Pc.
Works fine on my Laptop.
Can anyone please help.
Many thanks.
Jimmy

I mentioned this over 5 months ago...

...will update this thread with info about the link issue you brought up … ...will update this thread with info about the link issue you brought up earlier.

There have been no further updates from a site representative since then.

BFN,

fp.

If someone could post a link that actually mis-redirects I would be much obliged. I've been looking for one for awhile today, and cannot find one.

Problem seems to be when people try to link to a product sold via Amazon Warehouse or an Amazon trader. For example, lets take the 'Samsung LE32C530 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 50Hz LCD TV with Freeview', which is a bargain at Amazon Warehouse for £228.49 and this is the full link (including all of the Amazon (how you got to this page info tagged on):-
amazon.co.uk/gp/…sed
It doesn't link
So, I'll try removing all the how you got to this page info tags :-
amazon.co.uk/gp/…M4/
Still doesn't work
So, you have to actually go back to the main item page (Return to product information) :-
amazon.co.uk/gp/…1M4
Which works - however to then find the bargain £228.49 price at Amazon Warhouse you have to click '9 used from £228.49' to find the deal.

Thank you andywedge. All of the links in this thread work fine for me except for the ones posted by andywedge.

funny as everyone else say they don't in this thread

That link wasn't posted in this particular thread yet, or else I've missed it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The link that the use posted for that deal is:

amazon.co.uk/gp/…tml

which doesn't seem to be a valid link

I just put up an update that should solve the remainder of the issues. All of the above links are working now (and the ones that were mentioned in the other threads).
