The situation still is that top comments cannot be liked and that is by design. They are already prominent so if we allowed them to be liked they would likely always be the top comment. We would rather members got involved in the discussion and when reviewing it if they believed a comment was worthy of being the top comment then they'd like it that way.

Ah sorry. My bad, didn't see that thread. I still think it should be implemented as a feature. Other sites like YouTube allow top comments to be liked directly. YouTube does it slightly differently though. The user can choose whether they want to view top comments or newest first. Perhaps HUKD could implement something like this? It works for YouTube quite well in my opinion.

This though would still run counter to the intention for a comment's status as a "top" comment to come from people with an informed view of how the comment fits within the context of the whole thread, rather than being self-fulfilling.
