It looks good, there's a few little snags, for example;

hotukdeals.com/ite…9-/

That price matches a different Dr Dre album and the button only seems to work on the main page rather than being able to click it when viewing a specific thread.

Yeah just fixing that second bug re item view.

The matching is going to be a problem across the board...

when I click on it literally nothing happens. Using firefox.

To be honest I won't be using it, rarely use amazon and it kinda feeels as if hotukdeals is fast becoming an subsidiary of amazon but all the more click throughs I guess.

That's fair enough, there's very few errors in it anyway but I imagine the majority of those will be down to an error in the title.

Try it when you're on the main deals page so;

hotukdeals.com/ent…sed

It's the same in IE too

+1

With places like play.com and The Hut having regular discount codes available, I hardly bother with Amazon nowadays as stuff can usually always be bought cheaper elsewhere (and with Quidco on offer most of the time)

yep me too, I suppose its deal anarchy for the masses but before that here's a link from our sponsors over at amazon.

It works when viewing the thread now, that was quick :whistling:

its hardly an annoying feature as its only a small icon so even if you dont like it i dont see why it should annoy anyone.

i think its an alright item, but maybe add a play.com and a few other retailers in maybe for weighting the price better?

Brilliant little tool. But you need a lot more retailers to make it effective.

Plus it doesn't actually compare the same product.

Good idea, works nicely for me. Have to say a cool little tweak would be to add more merchants then display the cheapest at the top of the list. Something to consider later though if this is popular.

Have to say I agree. Whilst I like the idea, if most people are like me the first place they will check before posting a 'deal' is Amazon to make sure the price is less. If you were to have a wider selection of retailers then I'd use it a lot. It may be that the deal is only a few pence less than elsewhere but the other retailer has a better reputation or delivery time.

Just to add I'm using IE6 at work and I'm having no problems with the view.

Yeah if it looks like it's popular we will definitely build it up more and add stuff.

not working for me just says error on page.

Needs a few tweaks.

One being that when your linking an amazon item and you click compare it errors.

You mean on an Amazon listing it couldn't find the Amazon product to compare?

Yep.

It just says not avaliable or something.

Would be best to add one more popular retailer might stop some of the errors.

Great idea, I always use google's product comparison, but have found that it often misses many good online stores and instead includes a lot of poor results.
