I think so because people aren't always sure which companies accommodate cashback - as the cashback sites' affiliation with all merchants conflict, some do, some don't.

Also companies move in and out of cashback affiliation regularly.

It's quicker for the user than going through the cashback site's merchant search engine - and to try and find the correct online store.

I imagine most will give cashback mentions the thumbs up.

I think to add quidco 11%, or topcashback 9%, etc,etc is good, sometimes we forget about cashback, so having it in the title makes sure we dont

maybe you could get another sponsored link admin! I do think it helps.could this automatically be added to the end of every post? i suppose with it all changing it would be a lot of work to keep updating.

When i 1st came here it took a while to find out what cashback deals were so if it's not added how will new members know? Maybe when you link vouchers to a deal there can be one for quidco

Definately needs to be there, maybe only in the OP or something but certainly worth mentioning. Whilst it's not guarenteed it comes through about 99% of the time so /i use it to find out the final price.

Quidco etc only works with certain companies, so in that case it makes sense to remind people that its available on a deal they're posting.

PLUS the fact that the price is reduced even further is based on that, means you have to post the price reduction site!

Well I'm only interested in Quidco because I can only cope with one cashback site and I find it extremely beneficial to be reminded in the OP. Same with if there's a current voucher or any other way to save money.

TBH I always thought it was just standard courtesy to include it, seems I was wrong. When some sites are giving you an extra 10/11/12 % off the price it's hardly insignificant.
This thread for instance with Quidco made it a stonking price (no longer available):

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm actually a little surprised everyone prefers it this way.

The "negative" amongst the site would probably say that you wished that people were forgetful about cashback.

However, I say it's good to have a reminder

why not add cashback to a deal the same way you add a voucher to a deal. in the submissions form there could be a box to tick if quidco etc was available for the item

Id like it so that you could choose your prefered cashback site and then it would have 2 links, one to the deal direct through HUKD and one to take you to homepage of cashback site.

Good ideas although I'm pretty sure this was put to Admin before and he didn't think it was right.
Can't find the original post :x

It's not in Admin's interests to promote quidco to be used for the deals, he's not going to stop people mentioning it but I doubt he's going to make it ridiculously easy for people to via quidco, would you?

Its very much a catch-22 situation as if cashback links were added the site turnover would undoubtedly decline, after all this site needs to make at least enough money to keep it running. I'd keep the status quo - allow reminders in the title + links in second post where applicable but don't make it too easy.

I'd say stop it in title headings as it adds clutter. Have Quidco mentioned in the actual post but not in the heading. Its starting to get like ebay with people finding more ways to 'advertise' the deal they've found. Pimping their deal so they can get rep!

The title of the deal should just have the product name, possibly the model number if its a product like a TV where model numbers matter, the price and then the retailer name with the last part say online or offline.

Example of current trend:

Super Smash Bros Brawl & Gift Wrap £25.98 plus 11% Quidco

Example of proposed:

Super Smash Bros Brawl - £25.98 - Gameplay (online)

I can't agree with that SL !
Surely the aim of the site is to provide hot deals and therefore the cheapest was to purchase that product.
Cashback sites are part of that saving and indeed in the example you put forward an 11% saving. That's very significant on an item that was already a pretty good price.

I don't understand what the objection is to be honest. Quidco (and that's all I can cite) to me is a no brainer. I don't rely on it but 99% of the time it comes up trumps and it has saved me a tidy sum in the last year or so.

As for people pimping their deal to earn rep, I don't get that either. If you see someone begging for rep for a deal they've posted then report them but in the same case if someone has just saved you some cash you would want to say thank you in some way , wouldn't you ??

Anyway nobody is forced to give rep on anything ?

I would have thought "Super Smash Bros Brawl & Gift Wrap £25.98 plus 11% Quidco @ Gameplay" would have been better Although I think just the mention of QC is sufficient, the 11% should really just be mentioned in the description rather than the title.

Its not an objection just an opinion and by the looks of things my opinion is along similar lines to the OP where as as other people have stated other opinions.

I have never said dont include quidco at all but whats wrong with putting it in the post instead of the heading.

I just dont really see the need to try and cram the whole thing into the title.

My comment on rep was referring to people on ebay trying to cram as much info into the title as possible in order to attract lots of people and into their item - it does happen on here, with people putting way and above the amount of info. It was also meant as rather tongue in cheeck.

End of the day the product is the only real useful thing in the heading as people who dont have quidco its useless info, and possibly the other useful info is the retailer as some people do not buy from certain places due to experience/personal reasons.

From a HUKD point of view I'm sure they dont really want Quidco emblazoned across alot of title headings as it takes away their revenue. My idea was merely that, an idea just to make the headings look neater. Product, price, retailer. Simple. Quidco goes in the post with the rest of the info. Usually the title is repeated twice in the posters text box about the deal, whats the point in that.

if people put all the information in the title whats the point of having them post as well, surely you'd just have a link next to the title with a comments section below.
