We're looking at updating the rules, hence we haven't integrated our current ones on Fo.lk

The inbox synch issue will be sorted soon, I'll chase it today

I know I sound like I'm having a grip about Fo.Lk but you all asked for beta testers and then launched it anyway, what rules do we follow when listing, can I list any old pap. (profiteering etc) As new members joining that who arn't aware of the rulings here and the double listing may encounter infractions regarding something they know nothing about? Hope you understand that?

Second point ta.

The facebook and Ebay ID links don't seem to be working correctly. IE7 I believe.

they have:

Fo.lk listing rules:Please remember Fo.lk is only for personal use. Business or bulk traders are not allowed.

List your asking price and add pics if possible for your item. Pics help show you are genuine and that you have the items in your possession.

The asking price must be a price you are willing to take for your item (or less). Fo.lk isn't about profiteering so asking prices over R.R.P aren't permitted.

So your Profiteering point is mute. However, your completely right about the rest of the rules

Hmm that's not in 'rules and regulations' Bazz. Where you grab that from. Edit found it in the ABOUT page, why the heck is it there? Seriously silly place to look for rules when you have a rules page?:?

FO.LK - Trade safe! Follow these guidelines! Please be advised, all buyers and sellers should satisfy themselves that either party is genuine by providing and verifying the following via PM to each other and to Admin or a Moderator if they wish to keep a record:

Verified landline telephone number - make a CALL to check out the area code and number are correct!
Name and address including postcode
Valid e-mail address [no disposable addresses such as @gmail or @yahoo for example]
If you're using PayPal, check to see if the seller has eBay feedback. You can also make a small payment to and from each other to validate the PayPal e-mail address
If possible, collect and pay for items in person
Only buy from Verified PayPal Members if possible
Do NOT proceed with a deal until you are completely satisfied with all details being correct. It's in your best interest to check out these details yourself.

Offer and acceptance of trade or sale must be posted in relevant thread. You must NOT deal by PM only.

You must NOT have items for sale or trade elsewhere online if listed here and NOT 'bump' your thread more than a total of 2 times.

Please post images of the actual items for sale to show the condition and that you have the items in your possession. Thanks!

Admin

You all need to bear in mind that Folk synchronises to Hotukdeals FS forum, and so hukd currently still apply.

Those are just brief guidelines Adam though I agree it's unclear at the moment. We'll get something sorted with that this weekend I hope

We asked for beta testers, but without throwing it open to the public, we were unable to see how it would function when used properly. We invited a core group of members to help us and we integrated several of their suggestions, fixed glitches etc. We couldn't force them to use it for listing items though and using the site as it should be. If we had opened a thread on Hotukdeals and appealed for beta testers who are about to use Hotukdeals, it would have posed the same problem we're having right now.

The only way we could see problems and glitches occurring in real listings was to put it out there

Got the facebook/tw/ebay connect issues ta, hopefully will be fixed today

Fair enough Juliet_bravo that's the way the team obviously wanted to do it.

I hope the team will invest more time in Fo.lk and get more issues out the way.

Good luck with the rules, expect feedback

I've started a new thread via fo.lk in order to enter the competition and shift some blurays. However, 7 of the replies are asking me to 'split' when I catagorically say 'no splitting'. Can you tell if these posts are from HUKD or FO.LK? I'm just asking as they are technically thread spoiling or bumping and if they are 'fo.lk' users, there's no real rules to break

Infact, GentleTouch just pointed out the fact also (albeit by bumping my thread)

Admin

You'll notice that the rules page has been updated, I mentioned this morning that we'd be working on that.

 however, can we not make pictures compulsory? Also, I think it's worth adding that 'REPLYING to others who have bumped your thread with an irrelevant post will be deemed as a bump. Users should report these posts to be removed instead of replying'

Ha:)

Suprised to see cable boxes arn't allowed what does this include? (i.e Sky, Virgin etc, might be worth adding that.) I have no problem with the rule just wondering why the change.

Voucher trade/sale allowed here?

Is this indicating that pics are now compulsory?

I think they should be so would support this btw

I think Bazz is asking for them to be made compulsory, don't think the admin team will move on that, has been said many times before.

Though it would stop all the people asking for pictures, and would also solve a bit of mods work. As always I'm agreeing with pictures being made compulsory.:)

I just don't think there's any excuse not to post pics these days. fo.lk has the option to host your pictures via upload, so that eliminates the 'I don't know how to add pics'. There's very few people who don't have a camera/phone/webcam these days, so they should be moved down to the rules instead of the guidlines.

More importantly, nobody is commenting on my community 'I'm here to win an iPad' thread...

Any feedback on these this week? update?

Adam2050;8118716

Any feedback on these this week? update?

+1

Also, further clarification is required regarding cross promotion. People are cross promoting their 'community threads' (me included), but this also links to my for sale thread on FO.LK and in turn my thread in FS/FT on HUKD.

This would not normally be allowed

Looking at the rules on fo.lk that would allow me to post for sale vouchers, but yet this isnt allowed on HUKDs, but it will be crossed over anyway? I am confused...

Yep we are waiting on confirmation of this.:)

Thought as much, this is one reason why I haven't used fo.lk as it crosses over with HUKDs but doesn't abide by the same rules. Consistency is needed, otherwise no cross over.

They need to change an awful lot to make me pay for it. And defo would need more admins for me to feel like there actually giving me something for the cash.

Its simply awful atm.

where? do you have a link?

Don't believe that for a second.
it wouldn't work, what "extra" would you get for that fiver? another couple of bumps, insurance when someone scams you, would you have to pay that fiver if you just wanted to sell a £2.50 kids top, do you have to pay to buy something and thats only a few issues off the top of my head. It also doesn't take account into the fact that folk is a mess right now as others have pointed out so no I cannot see it happening. My god they can barely get a competition "right".

bazzaric;8129117

I think lumoruk mean't to post this in misc>nonsense

yeah thought as much but I figured it was worth biting just incase it gave admin any more daft ideas.:)

We're still reviewing issues/features and bugs as per Juliet_Bravo's earlier posts. Others are still invited to comment, we welcome those.

It's a shame some still forget that this is a free trading environment with dedicated resources running almost 24/7. I think it's a little unfair that comments reflect additional mods/admins effort required to moderate when I think the service here, including fs/ft mod response times is almost unmatched anywhere else.

We are continuing to try and offer the best service possible and as always welcome your constructive feedback.

Not sure of the need to remove the comments?

Fo.lk will far out stretch you and a few others modding it. If your planning to make it big which I guess you are. (guessing thats why you taken on a semi active member in cuzzy)

The comments were off topic and based on a very unfunny joke. The thread in misc was left (equally unfunny)
