Great idea and a justified reason too

I'd like to see, please vote for my cat and the, "PLEASE HELP URGENT" threads that give NOTHING away in the title, meaning you have to open them to decide if you *can* actually help, banned to. Folks should be clearer in what they're asking for, but back to your post, really sensible idea

Removed off topic posts. Keep it serious in here please.

But no thoughts, comments or feedback on it then?

I don't have a problem with those threads, but that's just me (as a mod I'm not speaking for HUKD as a whole)

Fair enough, ta

It might be a good idea to have those threads only allowed and posted in the Miscellaneous forum, as then users can suggest items from merchants or say 'x' has that for sale in the FS forum at less than that price?

Edit: I agree for the same reasons as OP that they shouldn't be allowed in the FS forum though...

Fair shout Ray.
So, what about this going to the vote, Admin and the mods?
Given the lack of responses on here, might be just the OP, thee and me, but i still think it as a bad form to have them in there

If someone has time can they get the number of these kind of threads we're getting? Is it like one new one a day or like 10.

I reckon it's only 1 or 2 a week? Havent' counted, just guesstimating.

Although sometimes someone posts one, then someone else take the idea and starts their own thread too, leading to a few on the go at one time.

Thing is, when you have one of these threads it's active and remains near the top of the boards for a while because everyone is trying to sell stuff - problem is the stuff is usually already available in the individual threads too.

And then as Emma says, the idea just rolls and rolls and rolls...

Noticed we had a new rule tonight, whats the progress with this becoming a rule - or at least posted in the misc section only.

Bump - another few have appeared over the last couple of days, all of them being pointless and off topic and linking to threads that already exist.

We're just discussing it ]highguyuk, we'll get back to you later.

That's all I ask! (Well, maybe a bit more but as long as your discussing).

Thankyou!

Amending section 9 in the FS rules now. (This may be subject to further edit)

I will continue to report all the posts then, as now it really isn't allowed...

Thankyou for your help and discussion. In 2,440 posts this is the first suggestion on the feedback that I think has actually been implemented! Woo!
