The deals may not be permanently expired and leaving it the way it is gives people a chance to comment on the deal. They can say what the product is like, the delivery time, etc.

they still could in the expired forum!

maybe add a not expired button then !

once its displayed expied a button pops up un-expired!

That means adding another forum and finding the 'deal' if you want to comment or if it needs 'unexpiring'. Is it really worth the messing about? You can clearly see if a deal is expired so you don't need to look at it, it will soon drop down.
All the 'best' deals will be on page 1 or 2.

the expired deals get bumped more than the new deals!

Totally agree with Antj87:thumbsup:

If you go to the main page, you can filter the deals,

for example you can filter all merchants but only show Active deals under the availability option.

As dino says it allows people to comment and discuss the deal further.

Yep not a bad idea. Could be automated. As enough people click expired, it moves to a new forum, where people can discuss the offer still, without having to bump up an expired deal in the deals forum.

thanks for the support lol!

deals only show on main page when at a certain heat! fordy

No they show by temp by default but if you can view all deals no matter the temp. For example change the filter to Computers and Software category and it will show you the newest ones posted to that category.

maybe i got the wrong end of the stick the other day then!

still a expired forum would make it be a cleaner site

PLEASE DONT TURN INTO MSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

perhaps you could hire some 'unexpirers' for an expired forum. They just check the deals weekly or summit to make sure they have expired.

I'll volunteer!

You see, I suggested that idea in the mod bit and Admin quickly changed my mind by explaining that there's LOTS of expired deals... would I like to look through them all? lol.

Well, I have nothing better to do! :giggle:

niether do i!! lol

Ooh, we have a team building up, lol.

Just my 2ps worth but seems to me its OK as it is. I mean who would read a list of expired threads?

Currently recent deals that have more recently expired pop to the top of the Hot deals thread. Most of us start from the latest post and scroll down, so you note what has expired and when you come across the appropiate deal you can just ignore it. After a few days both threads will fade into obscurity unless as a previous poster suggested there are issues which normally surface in the expired thread.

Do mods lock a thread once the deal has expired?

We usually leave the thread open for discussion and only lock threads in extreme cases. I agree with your comments melipona about scanning down the forum list, and ignoring the expired deals... it's easy to do.

It doesn't really bother me.

I have changed the options to display 50 posts per page on the forum so tend to see more deals than expired deals, i find it easier
