You do need to set your custom requirements before the tab will do what you need.

Top right of main window you will see "Customise Deals & Alerts" click that and customise as you want.

One step forward, two steps back. I'm sure they'll get round to adding the Other tab, but in the meantime, just stick deals in a random section. That's what a lot of people appear to be doing.

As for your second Q. Do you mean if your browsing all deals, you want to be able to see if a deal is posted in "Games" for example?

Just click on the edit deal link and it'll show what section the deal is posted under.

csiman,

I'm not sure what benefit that would produce, e.g. stating a dvd player is listed under A/V ?

However should members filter by topic and notice something that's misfiled, then it's easily identified, is it not ?

If I'm missing the point here, let us know.

the point being is that a misfile would only be noticed if filtering by topic. I suspect most people just view ALL so wouldnt notice.

Just thought it would be neater and only a 10 minute change

Whilst you are here, is it definite now that the OTHER topic will always be missing from the topic headings?

cheers

Hi csiman,

I think you're beginning to unravel the reasons for change here. Decisions have been taken on data available which includes viewing/navigation habits.

As for the Topics, they are always under review, including the headings. As for the 10 minute change, what about Home/Garden/Electronics/Finance, etc ?

What I'm trying to highlight is that it's not just a matter of adding categories, it's a matter of viewing habits prior to the change that have assisted in the decision making process.

I wasnt suggesting the recent changes took 10 mins; just that it makes sense to everyone who has commented to also have the OTHER topic rather than temporarily customising your view every time you want to see that topic

people who just view via topics wont see things like washing machines, garden stuff, toasters etc etc anymore.
