I don't have an answer I'm afraid @speedy2019 , however I do know that the more threads (Deals) you post contributes towards you not being sent to 'moderation' and as you haven't posted any deals yet it may help you if you did.

Is this new? I've never heard of newbies having every post moderated for not posting deals before. The usual reasons given have been use of a VPN or suspicious keywords / links triggering it.

ETA - thinking about it a bit more, does it also apply to the legions of sign-ups who join for the sole purpose of begging for codes and who never ever post deals?

This happened to me last night for no apparent reason, when what I'd posted finally appeared it made no sense in context with other posts that had been made so I deleted it. It is damned annoying but I don't know what anyone can do about it.
I get moderated when answering some questions. But normally it’s approved in a few minutes.

this one didn’t get moderated.

Try answering with 'Hello'... then once that's been posted (how can any censorship algorithm block that?) edit your post with the text you wanted to submit. Not sure if that will work.

Yes that's exactly what happens. It's not as though the comment appears in the order that it was made, it appears in the order that it was approved (if that makes sense!)

I would have assumed new users would be placed under moderation for a certain amount of time, eg; 1 week or first 20 comments or something like that. After that they become 'unmoderated' and only then go under moderation if they step out of line. Seems fair enough right?

It's just that maybe someone doesn't want to post deals or doesn't have the knack of finding good deals etc etc

The edits go into moderation too

Oh well, worth a try. (It must be you then!)
Bit of an explanation of "moderation" in case it helps...

- users with low activity (we use a combination of threads AND comments posted) have their initial content dropping in for review. That is to stop forum spam and also so we can see if new members of the community need help with their first interactions

- users are moderated and we review their contribution before it goes live. Considering how large our community is this happens very rarely and is a last resort. This is reviewed periodically and if members want to be reviewed they just need to get in touch.

- thread is moderated. Again, this happens pretty rarely but if a thread is going off topic or has breached our site rules we'll try to get it back on track by just reviewing the discussion.

- certain edits to threads can drop it into moderation so we can be sure links aren't being changed etc.

@speedy2019 your specific reason is the top one

Thank you.

I see that that's what it is and that's absolutely fine. I am more interested in knowing the time scale for which this moderation remains in place.

I can't really give you any info publicly (because of the reasons why we have this in place) but if you want to drop me a message I can help a little more
