I'd change the Green colour to a nice burnt orange

I'd change the rules so anybody who moans about cold voting without giving a reason = instant ban.

I'd change the rules so cold voters MUST leave a reason - it would prevent the children on this site from fickle voting on stupid reasons and actually allow this site to function as a site to find deals - hey, this site is already called Hot UK Deals so maybe it's an idea to start using it as one! :whistling:

Did I mention you there? ;-)

Change the FS / Registeration rule so that all users are verified with admins (something like ebay), so that there are no frauds. I read a couple yesterday & felt very sorry for met with the xbox 75£ fraud.

And if that were ever implemented we can change the site name to Hot UK Arguments, lets be honest, every time somebody says why they voted cold it kicks off. Not that i'm complaining as I like watching car crashes

Lol. Like Ebay to have "no frauds".
I bet the percentage of frauds is less on HUKD than Ebay.

If they have a valid reason for voting it cold, there should be no arguments

All you accomplish by not posting reasons for cold votes is reluctance for others to post deals. Without deals being posted, this site is just another forum.

What's valid to one person isn't necessarily valid for another. Who decides? I saw a post the other day that said 'this is hot as it's cheaper than anywhere else'. Is that a valid reason for voting hot? In itself I would say no, for example the quality may be so crap it's not worth having at any price. I do think people should back up their votes with comments but why force them to? Freedom of choice and all that ;-)

I'd change the FS rules to allow bulk selling, if it cost less for people to buy from a user on here than it would be in the shops, then why stop it. If the bulk seller was selling something more expensive than elsewhere, nobody would buy it.

^^ recession busting advice.

I think the FS/FT area should have a buy it now link or something to avoid everyone scrapping for a bargain....Last time I sold something I got about 12 PM messages for it aswell as everyone saying 'pick me' 'pick me' in hte thread

If you were to cold vote something and then state the product is really shoddy quality, I don't think anyone would have valid reason to argue. However, you'll find a growing majority of cold voters aren't intelligent enough to make such distinctions. Usually, you'll see 'cold - it's (insert favoured football team/console/etc)' which is done purely for inflammatory purposes.

The bottom line is people want to use this site to find deals but are often missed because of prejudices, which not only makes it impossible to use as a bona-fide deal site but deters others from submitting deals.

I'd change the sign up to include personal information. So that theres verification on FS/FT with admins getting address information. Also an agreement so that legally binding they could be taken to small claims court if something occured.

I think you're on the right lines - whilst I agree it's a good idea to B/S/T here, there are some serious risks involved. There needs to be some verification of account for all involved - possibly a PayPal style verification of bank account where 1p gets deposited with a verification code?

But the bottom line is, who's going to pay for all this?

ctuk;5277032

Wouldn't be too expensive, would it?

Maybe a new thread should be started for open fs/ft idea discussion?
