Isn't the UK part more to do with the users of the site?

I think it's cool as long as it's available to us in UK.

Deal Extreme are posted every day.

I have seen a non-uk deal be removed because it wasn't from a familiar company, though so I guess it depends

Maybe. Maybe not. I don't actually think i have an opinion on this which is why i posed the question, hopefully i can see other people's views on this.

If its a great deal, post it! as long as they ship worldwide, we can get it.

It's ok as long as prices are listed in £'s, or that used to be the rule......

Have you looked at the pokemon thread yet :whistling:

I don't have a problem so long as they'll ship here. There are considerations when buying from the US such as duty and VAT charges that can destroy a deal, but some deals are quite good.

Mine's not freaky! Mine actually looks like me with a hangover...

my avatar says im quakers...and my name says im bonkers

think it's ok as long as someone has used them before and verify the transaction went ok i dont see why not if it's available to UK. i've purchased some blank media (as a test) from america before, they also have a similar deals site (eg. newegg). i know branded shoes are cheaper too (and available in all sizes and a half), there's a site if you're not happy you can send it back (i had a mate from US who received on my behalf and brought it over).

somehow i doubt US freebies are actually sent to UK though.

I've tried to post a deal for a company outside the UK before, and it was pulled, saying only UK companies are allowed

Moved to feedback.

Only certain sites from abroad are allowed. These are usually larger retailers or ones which we've received lots of positive feedback about. Please contact a moderator if in doubt.

shouldnt be giving money to the americans :whistling:

As long as they are good deals, i see no problems with deals from abroad

Ah, there's lots of threads containing member discussion and also discussion from the HUKD team about this.

Items posted from abroad (in particular, outside of the EU) are not necessarily covered by warranties, cooling off periods, distance selling regulations, etc. It's a lot easier to get scammed by firms from abroad and a lot more difficult to check out these sites. Hence they are banned unless they are big names (like Amazon, Play-Asia, etc) or a member starts a thread asking for feedback and we get LOTS of positive feedback for the company (as happened with DealExtreme).

Hope that makes our stance and the reasons for that a little bit more clear.
