Yes I do vote cold more often than hot especially on deals that are easily found such as Tesco or Iceland etc were deal after deal appears one after another but should I be forced not to vote?
Hi @hisqwertyness No one is forcing you not to vote but we ask that you vote fairly. There is a massive difference.

I've looked at your vote activity and your activity suggests you aren't voting fairly. The biggest indicator is the time between cold votes. You're literally going through pages of the site and voting in quick succession and there is no way you'd be able to assess the deal, know whether it is market leading or a great offer in a second.

That isn't fair on members that are taking their own time to post deals on site for the benefit of us all.

Do you also ask the question why has a poor deal gone hot so quickly? I once looked at a 2nd hand phone deal there were 2 available with no pictures of the actual items indicating their condition. The deal was about 200 degrees within half an hour but only one was sold and only a dozen visitors to the site. Certainly looks like votes are being artificially generated. If a deal is good I will certainly vote hot and defend the OP if it is being unfairly judged. Many deals save just a small amount or are easily found or have just been found to post without any personal recommendation to their quality etc so these get voted cold. I’m sorry but the expert programme has resulted in many of these posts where they are flooding the site to raise commission. Please delete my account if you feel I am being unfair in what I am saying
Ps I assume you’ve hidden this thread off the discussion site?

No heat on a deal is ever artificially generated. We review voting behaviour for both hot and cold and we have a system which flags suspicious voting behaviour which we can then review.

There is zero benefit to hotukdeals for poor or not market leading deals to be hitting our hot/home page. When members think we want all deals going hot because it means more money that is totally incorrect. It doesn't work like that.

If a deal hits the hot page and it isn't market leading our members will question whether hotukdeals really is the place for the best deals and that is pretty damaging. Why is hotukdeals showing me a deal that can be had substantially cheaper elsewhere? That is a problem but one we're looking to address. The same applies here for the Pepper Expert Programme. It isn't about volume and they aren't rewarded for posting a shed loads of deals.

This thread hasn't been hidden but it is in Feedback which is the place for site/account issues to be discussed.
