Picture removed as you get the idea, no need to show who is on my ignore list!

I can't see how that part can be done.
At least we know one person on your ignore list

I would love to see people's THREADS on my ignore list disappear, not just their posts. This would get rid of all the many games (e.g. add 1 to counter) / nonsense threads (e.g. anything by jfk / bg1) from ever being seen again.

This would be the best change hukd developers could implement imho.

I didn't think it would be fair to do so without your permission. I probably should have tho!

That's a very good idea, could we get this implemented too please?

Or at least be able to choose threads to ignore, then we could ignore whichever threads we like.

I'm sure they could put that in if they wanted to. They system can ignore the post, why not ignore it when it's quoted too. Surely it's just an extra bit of code.

another cloak and dagger thread on the saint, and reading on Black Gerbil1 and JFK, leave this sort of stuff in the misc.

no wonder you aint got any replies for people of power.

No intention of pointing out anyone in particular, it's just that member only recently went on the list and therefore I noticed it as his quote was shown straight away.

Picture removed as you get the idea of what I mean.

I think you'll find this is supposed to be in feedback, the ignore function doesn't work very well so I think the request for an improvement goes in feedback.

If you feel it needs to be moved please ask a mod but I think feedback is the correct place.

yeah cool to me it just looked it it was another "h4te thread on member x".

This has been discussed before, I think its a good idea, but I don't know if thedesginer will be able to implement it.

No h4te for certain members, just dislike the way certain people speak to people etc so have set them to ignore.

I don't see why there's an ignore function if it only ignores them until someone quotes them, which is quite often.

I think csi's idea is a good one, I'd like to ignore certain threads from cluttering up the forum from my POV, games threads mainly! I wouldn't want to ignore all threads from certain members the same way tho, I think Bazr has a song game thread but he comes out with some good stuff sometimes so I wouldn't want to totally ignore him just cos 2 years ago he started a game thread!

I'm one. I think. I'm bi-polar. I've been to both poles, and was angry at both.

Does that help?

I disagree that there is no point in the current implementation of the ignore list as it does improve scrolling through threads although I do also appreciate that there are limitations. Getting rid of quoted content is really quite tricky as the system would need to parse every single post and compare it against every post by an ignored member to look for matches which is far too much work for a busy forum like this.

Personally I'd like an ignore option that also removed threads from view that were created by ignored members but I don't think this is a function offer in vbulletin or at least not one I've seen implemented.

John

I seriously fail to see how anyone could get annoyed enough to block someone's comments on an internet forum :giggle:

starsparkle2311;3852834

lol, spend more time on here, you'll soon see:p

I spend quite a lot of time on here, probably too much.

People on the internet just don't annoy me - because they're just people on the internet.:whistling:

starsparkle2311;3852867

i know:roll:

So, what's your point - you seem a little lost.

So, people on here do get on your nerves then...

Are you a girl?

I agree. With one exception, anyway. Posts written in full caps make my eyes bleed, so their author just had to go.

I'm neither annoyed or sensitive to comments made by the people I ignore, the reason they're on my ignore list (which incidentally only has a very small number of people on it) is that I never want to read their posts. Yes, their posts may be quoted occasionally but on the majority of times I can skip straight past them which does make it worthwhile for me. Being able to ignore threads these people created would be even better as then they couldn't clog both threads and the forum itself.
