I think thats it, a lot of people ask what they think they could get for something they want to sell. Maybe you can't do that now?

I don't think it does.
If it did, they'd just ban those threads from Misc etc.

It was explained to me by another member earlier, but re-reading it again, it doesn't follow.

Raymans addition to the rule was pretty clear and unambiguous to me. I didnt see anything wrong with it at all.

So it means what jtx has said in the 1st post in this thread then.

it means when you ask for a price in misc then you cannot list it for 7 days after locking, same as the fs rules in the fs boards, people where listing to get interest before posting in the fs boards

Are you sure? If it did, why would ALL the rules apply?

probably easier to say that than add a new sentance, who knows, the fs rules need a little over haul i think, and really think it would be better to just stop the threads in misc

If I understood what it meant, needless to say, I wouldn't have started a thread in "feedback".
I asked StevenA2000_UK, he hasn't been able to answer up to now:

Does it mean what jtx understands it to mean in the 1st reply to me in this thread?

You may create a thread on Misc and request a price, however the same item must not be listed on FS/FT until a full 7 days have elapsed from the closure of the Misc thread.

The idea behind the rule is to prevent pre-post listing interest as well as cross promotion of the listing via other threads.

I hope this clears up the matter, if however you have a specific point/scenario to discuss then please let us know.

I told you it was pretty much self-explanatory, therefore did not feel the need to further simplify an already clear and defined rule.

Thanks. So it's what sassie outlined.

It just seemed a little convoluted that's all. If someone were to join and read the rules, there would be nothing that made them aware that they couldn't ask in Misc, and then start a thread in the correct forum.

If there was a rule that was clearer that said something along the lines of:

PRICE REQUESTS

1. If you request a price estimate in "The Misc", please be aware that you need to get this thread locked, and then wait a period of seven full days(Not 6 days and some hours) before listing these items in the "For Sale/Trade" forum.

lol. I knew as soon as a moderator/forum helper explained you and skusey would say "That's what I meant". Predictable.
