where would you then put eg a camera available in local sainsburys at a stupid price? it was on deals here a while ago and a friend called sainsburys who told him where stock was of it local to us and he got one easily. It was a clearance but it seems sainsburys can locate these bargains for customers. I it was on misc he would have missed it.

Local deals no longer allowed

Seems to be a statement, not a question.
andywedge did not say that local deals are not allowed,.

It seems he was saying that it was just a glitch on a price mark down, it may not even work in the same store again, let alone another one.

The "local store" was not even named.

Good job mods.

I've moved to Misc cos this will be store specificI've (for example) … I've moved to Misc cos this will be store specificI've (for example) bought two pies in Wigan Tescos that are on general offer at "2 for £1" and reduced in the quick sale section to 25p each and ended up paying something like 10p for 2 pies

I think what Andy means is the deal was not a deal because it was in the reduced section, which happens all the time when you scan two for one offers through when reduced, what he really should of said is this isn't a deal. Which it wasn't, based on the fact the items were in the bargain bin apon closing.

That to me means store specific deals are to be posted in Misc.

True, he did not mention 'Local Store' in the literal sense, however it takes very little comprehension to interpret AndyWedge's reply.

The reason the mod moved the Deal to Misc clearly implies that he doesnt believe the Deals section is for store specific deals!

Store specific to the user who posted the deal therefore the inference there is that it is their "local" store and therefore a local deal.

AW may not have realised the implications of his reply however others like Syzable and myself understood the meaning of the mods reply by his actions of moving the Deal to Misc and the reason he gave for moving it.

We do allow store specific deals, the one in question has been moved back over now.

Yeah, my uderstanding was that as it was an item that was found in the reduced for quick sale section and it was also a pricing glitch with an existing offer which will only have been specific to that store that it should be moved to Misc. I didn't intend to make it seem like local deals are not allowed anymore by my comment. But I did think that as it was such a unique price/glitch that it should have been Misced. Turns out I was wrong (as per JBs comment above) so sorry for the confusion.
