A better/easier solution would be for people to properly tag their deals. I would personally opt for admin or the mods to make a thread post highlighting the etiquette in each section so people know how to post deals properly and have such posts remain at the top of each page instead of buried under hundreds of feedback threads or in the help section hidden away at the bottom of each page in a very miss-able link.

If the first post in each section was the etiquette of that section then there would be no excuse for people not knowing how the site works or how to properly tag their deals.

Why would tagging be an easier solution? Why can't the mods just make a separate section? Make it easier for everyone. Also tagging can result in many keywords.

The mods dont make up the sections, the devs do, and only when told to do so by admin. It took years to get a Gaming topic so I don't rate your chances of getting a motoring section. Why they're posted in Home when they seem (to me, at least) better suited to Travel is anyone's guess.

The suggestion of sticky posts has been knocked back before. Its always suggested people should have read the help pages instead, though its clear they don't.

Loads of stuff comes up relating to the word car when clicking on "car" tag hotukdeals.com/tag…car . This is no good I don't want to see deals for car sponges, car seats etc I want to see actual car deals. If it takes years to get a car topic then so be it, I have been visiting HUKD since it started so I can wait.

That's why I always said there should be a price option in advanced search but again, that was knocked back. If you could limit results to over a grand you'd know it was only cars you were going to see. Or some bloody expensive sponges. X)

Didn't they used to have a price option in the advanced search? pretty sure they used to have one then they got rid?

Doesn't ring any bells. If there was, it must has be been back in the vbulletin days.

If a "Motoring" or "Car" Topic was to be added, it would no doubt have … If a "Motoring" or "Car" Topic was to be added, it would no doubt have sponges, emergency breakdown kits, tyres, & other vehicle/transport-related "Deals" within it anyway. You could always create either a "Deals" or a "Misc" Forum "Mega-thread" (like exists for Mobile Telephone SIMs, for example) & keep it updated with new "Deals" threads as they are listed or individual links to product pages.

I was thinking that aftet I said about having a car topic that people would post car accessories in it. Think I will start a mega car thread, thanks very good idea
